Mutated Librarian

My bits are so unorganized at this point that its hard to remember which kits I used specifically but the base is iron father feirros' torso with legs from the possessed kit. Very happy with how this turned out and I'm looking forward to getting the battlefield trophies kit to finish out the base.

Infiltrator Sergeants

Been trying to figure out the past couple weeks what bits I have that can give the vibe of all the equipment infiltrators carry and I think I've finally gathered a good pile, hardest thing for the rest of the units is going to be replicating the dish for the infiltrator comms array but I have some options. Should be able to make two squads of 5 and then finish it out with another squad of 5 when I have money to get an actual infiltrators box.

13 intercessors down, 17 to go

After getting two intercessor sergeants done I decided to put what I have of these units together, really happy with how theyre coming along

Experiment Using Servitor Torso

I started working on this without any real idea as to what unit it would represent, and ive ended up settled on lieutenant with power fist and power sword. I'm going to be on the lookout for things I can decorate the base with but other than that I'm pleasantly surprised with how satisfied I am with the result.

Two Intercessor Sergeants First Wash

It truly cannot be overstated how much a wash ties everything together.

First four pics are of a model I made to depict my best friend Jude, a transmasc icon. The second four are a primaris model with horus heresy weapons and an eliminator head and backpack.

I think next steps are going to be a red copper drybrush on the melee weapon blades and robot arm, followed by cleanup detailing, one final wash, and then varnishing and base decoration.

Former Astropath Lieutenant with Power Sword and Power Fist

Was playing rogue trader after getting some of the dlc and the astropath part of the ship gave me this idea after I remembered I still have repentia heads. Might have to make a list of my iron fist successor army without dreadnoughts and techmarines so I can have room for more units with leaders and lieutenants

Does Anyone Else Do This?

I have a really cheap foam transport bag that I use to take my unpainted minis to work and back to see how they do structurally in less than ideal transport (i use public transit and rideshares). Whenever a piece breaks off, I know to reglue that piece and reinforce the contact point with some sprue goo so that it has a stronger hold and I can feel more confident the mini is more structurally sound, or if a piece is extra flimsy like an antenna or something I can replace it with something equivalent but more sturdy. I do plan on gluing washers to the bases and using a magnetic tray case in the future but even then I think I might use this as a bit of a Gauntlet to test if I built my minis to last.

So basically all thats left to assemble for my current army is 2 redemptor dreadnoughts, a ballistus dreadnought, and a brutalis dreadnought, and I'm in a bit of a mental block as to how to approach giving them a unique look with parts from other kits. With my humanoid units its simple, I want them to look diverse and with scavenged and looted gear so I draw from whatever kits have bits in a similar scale and cut and sprue goo where needed, but its harder to wrap my head around vehicles in the same way since any parts that could fit equivalently are a little less 1:1. Any tips? I included a picture of my brutalis that ive already built (not really a kitbash, mainly just repurposed parts from the base kit to make the flower). Basically along with wanting to convey scavenged equipment in the model, I also want to convey in the models of the dreadnoughts in my army that they are fighting for a freer, gentler and less cruel galaxy (hence the brutalis above having a flower in its shot off claw lol).

These units have women, aeldari, people who escaped mid servitorization, and an ogryn and I'm looking forward to painting them at some point

I realized last night that I have enough bits at my disposal left over from other projects that I can potentially build a full squad of 6 bladeguard vets without having to buy a single bladeguard veteran box. This is the first of those six and I'm super happy with how it looks.

I feel like ive accidentally made the kitbashing equivalent of when an anime shows someone running out of the house with toast in their mouth and honestly I dont hate it
