Has anyone moved from a shopper drug mart store level to a corporate/head office role and how?
I’ve worked at Shoppers Drug Mart for over 4 years as a Beauty Specialist and Cosmetics Merchandiser, and I feel like I’ve hit a ceiling. I know the store inside and out, but I’m not sure how that experience translates into a long-term career.
I’m ready to move away from retail. The unpredictable schedule, weekends, holidays, and back-to-back closing/opening shifts just aren’t sustainable.
I’m interested in corporate or head office roles within Loblaw/Shoppers but don’t know what positions are realistic for someone coming from an in-store background.
Has anyone made that transition? What roles should I be looking at, and are internal applicants given much consideration?
Any advice would be appreciated!
