[TOMT] Warning: searching for a movie with a graphic body gore scene.
Trying to identify a film I saw a fragment of as a child (late 80s/early 90s on TV).
I only saw one scene, possibly with the sound muted or from another room, so I have no dialogue or music to go on.
The scene: A man and a teenage boy (early teens) who appear to know each other are in a bare, empty indoor room. The setting looks rural or very poor/depleted. The man grabs the boy around the waist, holding him with the boy’s legs wrapped around him, and begins swinging him. He swings him faster and faster, then starts smashing the boy’s head into the wall — repeatedly. It’s graphic and sustained. The boy doesn’t seem to expect it. The film looked serious — a drama, possibly a war film or social realist film. Not horror. Period setting, possibly pre-war or mid-20th century. The colour palette was distinctly cool/blue-tinted. It may or may not have been in English — could have been a foreign language film with or without subtitles.
I was a child when I saw it and it has haunted me ever since. Any help identifying it would be deeply appreciated.
