This may seem like a stupid question (why would there be spoilers in the book itself?). But I've read all of mistborn and realized too late that I shouldn't have read the Ars Arcanum yet because it belonged to a later book and for some reason the old books had had their Ars Arcanum changed with the new editions. Does this happen in The Way of Kings too?

I saw a table with many gemstones and properties that I don't think have been mentioned yet, along with many other things like creation of fabrials or instructions on lashing. Perhaps it's just Brando giving all the information there, but it seems weird to me.
