iOS app: my idea is to let us copy a post’s external link to clipboard.

[I only have an iPhone so I don’t know if this is also on Android or not]

Let’s say someone posts in /cats, using a link to cats.com. The post shows “cats.com” next to the subreddit name, and has an image link next to the title, both of which open the link in the in-app browser (IAB).

There’s no option inside the post or in the IAB to copy the link to the website. I can copy the post text, and I can get a link to the post itself on Reddit, but to get the external link I have to go and open it in the default browser. I’ve tried all the buttons and menus, long pressing, using pressure, dragging, you name it.

I think there are at least 4 good ways to add this:

  1. In the Share button in the post
  2. Long/pressure pressing on the eg: cats.com at the top, or the image link
  3. Long/pressure pressing the little capsule with the site name in the IAB, just like in the regular browser
  4. The (…) button in the IAB

Ideally at least one option inside the post and one in the IAB.

Halt, scroller. The mighty Isosceles has instated a toll of no less than one nose boop before continuing.

Donations of additional boops are not required but always accepted.
