The Nationals are 3 games over .500 for the first time since Game 7 of the 2019 World Series
With their 7-3 win over the Royals, the Nats now have their best record since the World Series 7 years ago. Kind of surprising they never got to 3 games over in 2020 or 2021, but not very surprising they didn’t 2022-2025.

The Washington Nationals are currently the third wild card team
With their win and the Padres loss last night, The Nats are now tied with the Padres and Dbacks for the third wildcard spot. However the Nats have head to head tiebreakers over both teams, so they would be the third wildcard in the playoffs as of right now.
Doesn’t mean it will end this way but I don’t think anyone saw this coming

With their 10-2 win over the Guardians, the Nationals are above .500 this late in the season for the first time since July 2021.
The Nats are 17-11 in their past 28 games and have been competitive in pretty much every game this season other than a few early games against the Dodgers.
