[Credor] Old watch brought back to life

I stumbled on this watch on Instagram, and as soon as I saw it I went on a hunt for it.

Especially because I was on the verge of getting a Grand Seiko Quartz watch for daily use.
Knowing it also has a very accurate movement, I got one.

Delivered in mail, and it was almost new but the default strap was very old style shiny crocodile leather strap.

I swapped it to a simple black strap.

Also the seller just kept it in box without changing the battery, so there was some element of gambling but it works great with a simple battery exchange! No leaks whatsoever.

So happy I scored this one especially for like 150Usd ish, and I will wear it for a while as my daily watch.

[Hamilton] Overhaul success

I took my late grandpa’s watch to a local watch repair company that was listed on the federation of the swiss watch industry. It was my last bet since Hamilton said they didn’t have any parts to fix it.

I didn’t have high hopes due to being refused of service, also since this watch used to stop after laying on the table overnight even though fully wound, I honestly wasn’t expecting too much.

However I picked it up last week, after a call from the repair shop that it’s fully serviced. I wound it up every morning the past few days, and it works without stopping!!! Wake up and seeing it still moving makes me happy to get out of bed.

I am so so happy since this is a special watch and my first mechanical watch.

I just wonder what was wrong with it. Haha.

Now I also sorta feel free of FOMO since most of my buddies sport swiss watches like Rolex Omega Vacheron (was trying to get one since this one stopped working out of FOMO and spite but failed Rolex and Patek). I plan on getting a watch to end my collection , a German watch.
One swiss made , one Japanese made and final german one will be good. Eyeing Lunova day date by Mühle Glashütte, or Senator Moonphase by GO…
