Debt free and happy
Spent the last few years clearing what felt like an impossible task. £26k of unsecured debt. Locked in, few rough years and got it cleared and after it was done continued to put that money into VWRP and others. The vwrp gains are not fully accurate as I transferred it from Vanguard directly when they increased their fees. The other investments are more recent over the last few months.
I appreciate we’re in a bit of a bubble moment but it feels great to look at a balance like this in the positive. Where before I had similar but negative.
This probably isn’t the best sub but if anyone has any unsecured debt and it feels hopeless, it’s not. There is always a way out. You may have to sacrifice some time, some money, some life, but the end goal is 10x worth it. Be strict. It just takes time there is no easy way around it and don’t gamble your way trying to find the end, it rarely works. I get it, it hurts but you will get there, and once you are you will feel more free and happy than you ever had before. You can use your gained determination to continue that into safe investments.
Yes I could have had a mortgage now with better decisions, or my ISA could have £50k+. But we learn and making mistakes is what makes us human. Appreciate everything.
