Is Honda Steed 400 WORTH IT???
Okay, so I’m getting my motorcycle license soon, and the whole reason I started in the first place was because I dreamed of owning a Honda Steed 400. But recently, I suddenly had this epiphany about what it actually means to own an “old” bike, and now I’m worried I might regret spending a lot of money on a 33-year-old motorcycle.
A lot of the motorcycle dealers I’ve talked to have told me that they can’t guarantee that a Steed can be a reliable long-term bike, especially for things like daily commuting and stress-free riding. They’ve mentioned possible issues like carburetor problems and age-related maintenance. What scares me is that I barely see people talking about these problems online, so it’s hard to tell whether they’re actually rare or if people just don’t mention them much.
As a backup plan, I’ve also been considering the new Honda Rebel 300 in case it ends up winning me over compared to the Steed.
