Unique experiences/dinner recommendations in Tokyo for birthday

I’m visiting Tokyo in a couple of weeks’ time and I’ll be in the city for 5 days. It’s also my girlfriend’s birthday during the same time. I was thinking about giving her a little surprise on her special by taking her for dinner at a special place or just trying some fun/unique stuff.

We are both in our mid twenties and open to trying something new. I would love to hear your ideas and recommendations. TIA!

Edit: She’s really into coffee, matcha, food, loves animals, dancing, singing, and shopping (clothing). I was thinking about some of the animal cafes too and found a cute cat spot in Kichijoji, but I want to know if those are actually worth it, and I wouldn’t want to support a place that doesn’t treat animals with care.
I would also love to hear about fun couple activities (see a lot of those on Klook) at the end of which we can have souvenirs to take home! Also, we have been in a long-distance relationship for 3 years (different countries) and we will be meeting after almost 10 months on this. I want to make it a memorable one.

Question about Work Experience calculation for Express Entry Profile

Hi everyone, I started working full time on May 12, 2025 and created my express entry profile on April 28, 2026. I also made a trip to my home country from December 10, 2025 to February 8, 2026, so almost two months.

While I was away from Canada in my home country, I continued working for my Canadian employer remotely. I didn’t realize while creating my profile that the two months I was away from Canada wouldn’t count as valid work experience for CEC (Only experience while being present in Canada is counted), and if I don’t count them, my actual one year of work experience was completed on July 12, 2026.

I haven’t received an ITA yet and I don’t think I’ll receive one before completing 2 years of Canadian experience anyway.

I have the following questions for which I need guidance:

  1. What should I do with my express entry profile that was created on Apr 28, 2026? Withdraw the profile or simply update my work experience date?
  2. How do I proceed with mentioning my work experience given my two months away from Canada when updating or creating a new profile?

Thank you and any support or guidance would be appreciated, this is causing a lot of stress for me lol.

One Dell S3425DW V/S Dual Samsung Odyssey G50F

I’m contemplating between these two models and want to weigh in on the pros and cons before making a decision. The Dell S3425DW (Ultrawide) is on sale for CA$450 on Amazon and the G50F (27”) is on sale for CA$198 (so ~CA$400 for 2).

So far my research has shown me that the Dell, although a VA panel, has a pretty decent display which higher contrast. The Samsung on the other hand has better response time and is great for gaming. My use case mainly includes running multiple applications, text editing, coding, and a lot of web browsing. I don’t game currently, but may do some casual/light gaming during weekends.

I mainly want opinions on 1 ultrawide v/s 2 27” inch monitors and what are the pros and cons for both? I have ordered the Dell now to test it out but I’m open to returning it and trying out the dual Samsung monitors.

How do you approach recurring engagements?

I work at a consultancy and we have some clients who get quarterly assessments since. Some of these clients have been on contract since 3 to 4 years and have quite mature development practices. Also, multiple consultants from my company have worked on their pentests.

I often find myself in a block when I’m working on these applications. There is a new feature here and there that hasn’t been tested before so I find that interesting but I feel like they have already set up a strong baseline that finding any meaningful issues is very unlikely. Now, I know that developers always mess up and some seemingly secure features can also have vulnerabilities show up in them. I also know that there are areas which other consultants have never looked at in the past.

Overall, the chances of finding something meaty are pretty low compared to a fresh client. I do find some interesting stuff these days with everyone trying to add AI features.

How do you guys approach these assessments differently every quarter? Do you have an approach or just observe things and take it from there? Would love to know some thoughts on this.
