Any advice?
I’ve been working on my credit the last 10 months and have cleaned it up a lot, FICO sitting between 720-745 depending on utilization. I do my checking and savings with NFCU of course but have no other accounts. Got a mailer inviting me to apply for the Visa Platinum only to get denied.
I know the cause for a couple of these because my balances on cc accounts were high about 8 months ago but are low now, and I opened 2 AMEX cards in March and a Citi card in January, but does this mean I should open a pledge loan with NFCU to raise my internal score with them and keep more in my savings? Try again in a year?
I already have a 4 year old car loan that is almost paid off, no missed payments, and a small personal loan I used for debt consolidation 8 months ago, also no missed payments. Only missed payments or negatives on my credit are a 30 and 60 day on 2 cards in 2021 and 2023.
(Edit: internal score was 231 btw)
