Fishermen or sailors

Hi, I’m looking for books featuring fishermen or sailors or that have a strong connection to the sea or the ocean.

Literary fiction
Preferably modern classics

Maybe introspective or a little philosophical or weird and fucked up, can also be literary horror but nothing too speculative (no mermaids or monsters etc.)

Bonus points if it’s not in English

The only ones I remember reading that would fit this description are The old man and the sea and The sailor who fell from grace with the sea.

Madonna in a fur coat

Hi, how would you describe the language in Kürk Mantolu Madonna (1943)? Is it very different from contemporary Turkish? How hard to read is it?

Thanks!

"Desaparecerse" reflexiv meaning in Colombia

Hi, what does "desaparecerse" mean in Colombia? Is it the same as just "desaparecer" except it's used reflexively there, or can it also mean "largarse" ?

For exemple, in a sentence like: La mujer está sola desde que su marido se desapareció.

Would you assume he left her or that he was kidnapped?

Hi, do you know any Latin American (or Spanish) writers of short stories that are in the public domain ? (So died 70+ ago, but no earlier than 19th century)
Preferably women writing anything speculative/ horror

Untranslated litfic

Hi, I'm looking for literary fiction that has not been translated into english, in the lines of El cielo de la selva, Mandibula, Temporada de hurracanes, Mariana Enriquez etc., so something weird and transgressive with a little body horror, feminist, a little surreal or magic realist

Thanks!
