Alameda Avenue Project Question

What were the original plans prior to AS interference?

I don't recall any bike lanes proposed on Alameda, but that was the opposition & apparently the believe of some advocates.

As I understand...

The goal was to improve pedestrian safety & bike CROSSINGS, not add bike lanes.

Any info I can share?

Process for Approving Retaining Wall &/or Fence Installations in Denver

Still no response on this initial request I sent back in February...
If a property owner decides to install a fence or retaining wall, why aren't they being asked to locate their front property line?

Too many think their property extends to the edge of the sidewalk or even the curb, which isn't true.

It could impact future sidewalk installations or repairs, and is basically like assimilating public property as private property for free.

District 10 is beta testing PANDA

Beta Test PANDA

The construction is sort of helpful, but I don't see anything about bike route closures. (Probably b/c the City doesn't require anything to happen...)

No way to see a map of the issues Reported to Denver 311, so no way to know if an issue was already reported or where the issues seem to be concentrated.

So, what does PANDA get us & for how much?
IMO, the general information provided should be on the City of Denver landing page for 311.

I don't understand the point of recreating the Online Services Hub.

THANK YOU, DPR for keeping bike & ped access OPEN around the event in City Park!!!

Generally speaking, the center roadway connecting the MLK Memorial & West traffic circles is closed, as well as the road in the SW corner. The rest is open allowing bike & pedestrian access around the event.

THANK YOU, DENVER PARKS & REC!!!

Hostile security in city park for the Black Arts Festival

Avoid city park this weekend. My wife was blocked while travelling at a slow speed through the 21st roundabout in city park, which remained open to car traffic and had no signs indicating a closure, around 8 am. A security guard jumped in front of her forcing her to stop short and then grabbed her front wheel before proceeding to insult her. She was surrounded by a sorority participating in the event who then forced her to turn around and travel against traffic to exit the park.

I seriously doubt the event permit prohibits cycling while permitting cars, and even if it does, it should at least be signed as such.

8th Ave “hell strip” looks like heaven

It’s really nice to see the use of the area to make something look really nice. Sure they’re watering it but it’s gotta be less than what it was with grass.
