Collection Trucks can Damage Trees

Saw this branch get caught in the arm of a truck collecting a compost bin. Just suggesting to avoid placing bins under your trees & watch to make sure neighbors don't place bins under your trees either.

What does HB26-1237 mean for DOTI Right-of-Way Enforcement?

https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/HB26-1237

Now that Gov Polis signed HB26-1237 into law, what does that mean for DOTI Right-of-Way Enforcement?

Will they extend ROW Enforcement hours & issue more citations? Will they be able to have vehicles towed or does this have to be enforced by Denver Police, who likely won't respond to such a low-level infraction?

Maybe the DOTI Advisory Board & the Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee can get answers to these questions. Consider connecting with whomever represents you from your District.

Shout out to RTD Operators today!

We often see complaints, but heading downtown an operator intentionally paused to allow me to board, b/c they new I wanted to catch the bus.

I didn't wave. I didn't yell. They just knew.
Now, heading back from Downtown, I just watched an operator educate a rider on how to properly secure their bike on the front rack. It was awesome!

It's things like that that make people want to ride more often.

I have to say that 95-99% of the time, the Bus Operators are OUTSTANDING!

Still wish it was FREE at the time of boarding so we could load at the rear, but others don't see it my way.

Once we can load at the rear, these will be AWESOME!

How do you get to these if you're coming from Downtown or Aurora?

Effective solution for protect bike lanes along vehicle travel lanes

https://safetlane.com/about/

Think of 15th Street downtown or the sections of Market and Blake that have traffic along them. Instead of demanding flex posts, we should be demanding concrete barriers.

Honestly, I would like to see these installed along the cycle tracks like on the new Alameda Avenue overpass. They're nice and low so that they won't impact our handlebars, but being placed on top of the curb would effectively make them the height of a standard Jersey barrier.

Missing Connection between 16th Ave & City Park Esplanade

The Sidewalk along the North side of Colfax at Denver East High School from Detroit Street to the Carla Madison Rec Center should be recommended as Shared-Use.

Lime bikes & scooters, now Veo, are geofenced from being ridden on campus.

Market & Blake Street Protected Bikelanes should both be Left-running with no breaks.

Proposing that DOTI make Blake & Market Street Protected Bikelanes with both Left-running without breaks or interruptions.

One issue is at 16th just after STK where the lane vanishes into a bus stop. This will eliminate that conflict.

This will also put them both on the inside from one another making it easier to ride the correct direction in the bike lane & then safely loop back a block to your destination. We should do the same with 14th St to mirror 15th Street while also eliminating the need to cross traffic twice to loop back onto Market from Blake Street.

Maybe we can even get portions or all as raised cycle tracks installed by developers on the blocks missing sidewalks & curbs.

Plus, I think a lot of riders will be turning left to access Brighton Boulevard Cycle Track, or 20th & Park Ave to access the South Platte River Trail. Just makes sense to limit the need to cross busy traffic.

We just need the Downtown Denver Partnership & our Councilmembers to ask that it happen.
