Making the gridfinity bins 'lighter"

Hi folks.
I recently printed some bins for fishing tackle box with the help of perplexinglab.

The storage containers are store bought containers in the dimensions of 360mm x 280mm x 80mm.
These containers taking 2 layers of bins with a height of 4U each layer.
After completing the full print job, I realized that the weight of bins exceeding actually the weight of the lures stored in them.
Since the generator is based on OpenSCAD code I got the following idea:

Why not having the opportunity to print the (selectively) bottom and walls not as solid unit but as a lighter hexpanels made by the OpenSCAD library module hexpanel from theBOSL2 library?

Before digging into the OpenSCAD code to modify it for myself, I'm asking the community whether perhaps someone has done something similar or joining me to support a change request to the author of the solution for this purpose?

I am curious to hear some feedback about this idea.
Thank you

Where can I find a tool to make cutouts for gridfinity bins

Hello,

I think I remember to have seen here in this sub-reddit a link to a tool that creates cut-outs for gridfinity bins after upload of an image of the tool (e.g. pliers, caliper, knife etc.) but I can't find it anymore.

Perhaps someone has a link that can be posted here.
Thanks

a generator for a grid between two layers of bins. Does that exist?

Hello,

I'm wondering, is somebody aware whether a generator exist somewhere to create a grid pattern to be used between two layers of storage bins? similar to the generator at Makeworld/makerlab)?
I have some storage container that I want to use for holding gridfinity bins stacked on top of each other. I thought that a grid between two layers of storage bins will stabilize the whole contraption.
Any ideas?

Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Is it possible to open (and view) a gCode file?

Hello,

I'm wondering is it possible in Orcalslicer v 3.2.1 to open and view a gCode file and possibly send it to the printer?

And if so, How can do that (I didn't find a decent way) ?

Thanks for any recommendation.

how can I to create a 'partial' map?

Hello,

I'm wondering, is it possible to create a partial map of a specific country?

Basically what I mean is to just have a map of a desired country without the surrounding countries beyond the it's borders.

If there is a tutorial somewhere, please let me know.
I checked the QGIS manual but couldn't find a related entry.

Thanks

Changelog for firmware update for ECC from v1.1.46 to 1.4.46

Hello,
Where can I find information (change log) of Elegoo's website for the firmware update v1.4.46.
I was looking at the software section but there is not even the firmware listed (for download).

I want to take a look at the changes to decide whether I should update or not (not every FW update is an improvement).
Thanks

Hi folks,

I'm facing a problem when printing a thin but high object.

It appears that the object is not stable enough on the plate to finish the printing without any screw-up.

I was looking already for the a) modifier, b) support blocker and c) support enforcer but wasn't able to get it working properly.

Any ideas what I can do to finish the print successfully?

I know I could lay it flat on the bed but I was hoping there would be another way too.
Any suggestion is much appreciated.

TIA

Is the website qgisforum.org known to anyone?

I created an account and tried to login, but it seems to me the whole website is not working.

When requesting new password just a blank page shows up?

Any feedback about that?
Thanks

Hello,

I want to create a regional map (of Poland) that contains the bi-lingual names of the cities/villages of the country.

I have the vision to have a map with two layers, one layer with the original polish names and the other layer with the corresponding names in German so that I can switch between the two layers as needed.
I'm not very experienced yet with QGIS but want to give it a shot.

Does anyone knows a good tutorial that I could follow when creating the two-layer map, or is even such a map already available?

Any suggestion is much appreciated.
TIA

PS. I want to use the map for some Ancestors research
