So this is where we're at now

She told me she might have to leave college.

Her dad had got a job in another city and her family was thinking about moving.

Nothing was confirmed yet.

But suddenly all the stupid stuff I'd been worrying about felt completely irrelevant.

I spent the next few days trying not to think about it.

We still went to class together.

Still talked.

Still joked around.

But there was this weird feeling underneath everything.

Then one evening she called me.

She said they had decided.

She was leaving.

I don't think I've ever felt that empty while still technically being happy for someone.

We met the next day after college.

Neither of us really knew what to say.

We just sat there for a while.

Eventually she asked me if I still wanted to be with her even if she moved.

I said yes.

I don't know if that was the smart answer.

Probably not.

But it was the honest one.

She's leaving next week.

We're still together for now.

Maybe it'll work.

Maybe it won't.

I honestly have no idea.

But it's weird how someone can go from being a completely random person in your class to becoming the person you can't imagine not talking to.

And yeah, I still hate college.

But if nothing else, I guess I got one good thing out of it.

I think I ruined everything by overthinking

The guy was someone she'd known before college.

Apparently they'd been friends for years.

She told me this casually when I asked who he was.

I acted like I didn't care.

I definitely cared.

After that I started overthinking everything.

If she took longer to reply, I'd wonder if she was talking to him.

If she cancelled plans, I'd think she'd rather be with someone else.

I never actually had proof of anything.

It was all in my head.

One night we were texting and I got annoyed over something completely stupid.

She asked what was wrong.

I said “nothing.”

She knew I was lying.

Then she asked again.

And instead of just telling her I was feeling insecure, I said something like “maybe you should just talk to whoever you actually wanna talk to.”

Instant regret.

She stopped replying.

The next morning she barely spoke to me.

I tried acting normal.

She wasn't.

After class she finally asked me what my problem was.

And I basically admitted everything.

The jealousy.

The overthinking.

The fact that I was scared she would find someone better.

She just looked at me and said,

“you could've just told me you were scared.”

That hit me pretty hard.

She wasn't angry because I liked her too much.

She was angry because I didn't trust her enough to tell her what I was feeling.

We talked for almost an hour.

And eventually things were okay again.

Or at least I thought they were.

Because a few days later she told me something that I wasn't prepared for at all.

I think she knew it was a date

We went to this small cafe not too far from college.

Nothing fancy.

We just sat there talking.

For the first 10 minutes I was so nervous that I probably sounded like I'd never spoken to another person before.

Then eventually it became normal.

We talked about everything except college.

Music, childhood stuff, relationships, stupid things we'd done, what we wanted to do after graduation.

At some point she asked me why I had asked her to come.

I said “because I like talking to you.”

She smiled and said “only talking?”

I genuinely wanted the floor to swallow me.

I finally admitted that I liked her.

She didn't say anything for a few seconds.

Then she said she'd been waiting for me to say it.

Apparently she'd liked me for a while too.

I honestly didn't believe her at first.

She told me she'd noticed me before we'd even started talking.

The whole way back I couldn't stop smiling like an idiot.

Before leaving, she hugged me.

It wasn't some dramatic movie moment.

It was literally just a hug.

But I remember standing there after she left thinking, yeah, I'm completely screwed now.

For the next couple weeks everything was honestly really good.

We'd meet between classes.

Sometimes she'd steal my phone and take random pictures.

I'd wait for her after lectures.

We weren't officially calling it a relationship yet, but everyone around us knew something was going on.

Then one day I saw her talking to another guy outside college.

And I knew him.

That was the first time I felt that weird jealous feeling.

I didn't say anything.

I probably should have.

The girl I like asked me something weird

So picking up from yesterday.

We were sitting outside after class, just talking normally.

At some point she asked me,

“Do you like anyone?”

I said no.

Which was obviously a lie.

Then she asked, “Not even me?”

I laughed because I genuinely thought she was joking.

She didn't laugh.

She just looked at me for a second and then started talking about something completely different.

I was sitting there thinking what the actual fuck just happened.

After that things got kinda weird.

Not bad weird.

Just... different.

We started texting more at night. She'd tell me stuff about her family, old friends, things she normally doesn't talk about with people in class.

One night we were texting until almost 3am.

At one point she said something like “I feel comfortable talking to you.”

I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

But obviously my dumbass took it as a sign.

A few days later I finally asked if she wanted to go out after college.

I tried making it sound casual.

“wanna get something to eat after class?”

She said yes almost immediately.

And then I spent the entire night wondering whether she thought it was a date or just two friends getting food.

I didn't ask.

I was too scared.

The next day she showed up wearing this outfit I'd never seen her wear before.

I know this sounds stupid but I swear she looked different that day.

And then she said something while we were walking out of college that made me think maybe she knew exactly what I was thinking.

I think I accidentally fell for a girl in my class

I don't really know how to explain this without sounding like a complete idiot but here goes.

I'm in first year and there's this girl in my class. Let's call her A.

I didn't really notice her at first. We were in the same class, sometimes sat nearby, that's it.

Then one day she asked me if I had the notes from a lecture she'd missed.

I sent them to her and thought that was gonna be the end of it.

Except later that night she texted me again.

Then the next day.

Then somehow we started talking almost every day.

Nothing serious either. Just stupid stuff. Teachers, assignments, people in our class, reels, music, random shit.

And somewhere along the way I started waiting for her messages.

I'd literally check my phone during lectures hoping she'd text.

That's when I realised oh shit, I actually like this girl.

The problem is I had no idea if she felt anything back.

Sometimes she'd sit next to me even when there were other seats.

Sometimes she'd randomly ask where I was if I wasn't in class.

But then other days she'd barely talk to me.

So I convinced myself she was just being friendly.

Then something happened one afternoon that completely messed with my head.

We were sitting outside after class and she asked me a question I wasn't expecting at all.

And I still don't know if she meant it the way I think she did.

I think I’m starting to like this girl from my class and I hate it

okay this is probably stupid but whatever.

there’s this girl in my class who i didn’t even notice properly at first. we’ve been in the same class since the beginning but never really talked.

then one day she asked me for notes because apparently she missed a lecture.

i sent them.

she said thanks.

that's literally it 😭

but then somehow we started talking after that.

first about classes, then random stuff, then somehow we were texting till like 2am.

and now i have this stupid problem where i actually look forward to going to college just because i might see her.

the worst part is i have absolutely no idea if she likes me or if she's just being friendly.

like sometimes she starts the conversation herself and remembers tiny things i told her.

other times she'll disappear for half a day and i'll sit there wondering if i said something weird.

i know this sounds pathetic lol but i've never really been in this situation before.

and yeah... i think i'm actually catching feelings.

which is probably going to end badly.
