Pigeon rescue : Could he survive ? How can we help ?
My partner just found this pigeon about to drown in a river nearby.
They got him out of the water and he seemed shocked and very weak. Little buddy swung the best he could and looks exhausted.
We put him in a box with some water (with a pinch of salt and sugar) and oats but for now he hasn't eaten or drank yet.
He seems to be falling asleep. We put him in a quiet room with low lighting for him to rest.
What else can we do to help him survive this ? any clue why he is bald ?
For the record we are in France and there was a big heatwave recently. We have no prior experience with birds, and we doubt being able to find a local pigeon shelter since pigeons are considered pests in our city :( We will try to find one tho !
