Russian and Arabic similarities.

I am half Russian and so speak a bit of Russian and understand considerably more. One thing I’ve noticed is while I can obviously differentiate between Arabic and Russian, and know they are from completely different families, I find the languages sound quite alike? Similarly, when I hear an Arab or Russian speaking English their accents sound pretty similar. I spoke to a friend about this and they said they sound nothing alike. Is this just me, and if it’s not, why is this exactly?

Rent Repayment Order worth it? England

Hi, so I am living in a 6 bed HMO. My room is unlicensed (which I wasn’t made aware of). I am paying a lot of rent for an unlicensed room (over £1K monthly). It’s in London. My housemates rooms are all licensed. We are all being evicted at the end of June, but I was moving anyway and am moving out tomorrow. I’ve been living here for just under 2 years.

On the register the property is only registered as a 5 bed, and I remember early in my tenancy there was a knock on the door from the council, and the lady said that my room was unlicensed and told me to contact my landlord and give them her details. That was over a year ago, I emailed but they ignored it and I forgot about it, but I checked recently and my room is still unlicensed. I actually don’t have my landlords contact info or even his name, only the agency that represents him.

I found out about a rent repayment order. I am basically wondering if it’s worth it. And should I get a solicitor or is it fairly straight forward to do on my own?

Next steps after failed intimacy?

I (F23) have been seeing a guy (M27) for 1 month. 6 dates. The last one, our 6th, started amazing but ended pretty badly. It was our first time being intimate and basically, he couldn’t stay hard. I don’t really care or judge him for this as I know it’s not uncommon, it doesn’t necessarily mean we aren’t sexually compatible in the long run and sex isn’t really a hugeeeeee dealbreaker for me anyways. It wasn’t even really that awkward afterwards— I reassured him and we kind of laughed it off and went on as normal. But I know he was pretty embarrassed regardless.

Normally he texts the day after a date. He didn’t. He said he would when he left mine. He also said other future-positive things after the sex (or lack thereof). One day turned into two, then three, then four then five and I couldn’t take the uncertainty anymore and texted him. He replied the same day. But to be honest, the lack of messages and resulting emotional rollercoaster it gave me has really put me off. He also didn’t really acknowledge the silence or anything in his response and texted as if nothing had happened which put me off a bit further. It is an otherwise solid connection (not like he’s the one, but I liked him) but not sure if I can continue it. Also not sure what to say now. I’ve not replied to his message in 2 days. Also maybe I’m being dramatic, idk, don’t have much experience with casual dating tbh so sorry if this sounds a bit ridiculous
