Math teachers in Holland (middle & high school): What are you lacking in your classrooms?
Hello. My mom was a middle school math teacher & an applied math high school teacher. I am always looking for ways to support math teachers in my local area. If you are a local teacher or have resources to point me towards local needs, please chime in.
I have researched and found various groups that support teacher’s wish lists, but I prefer working directly with teachers whose needs may not ever make the top of those lists. A few examples: 1) a regional competition whose registration & travel costs weren’t covered; 2) a group of applied math teachers whose printing was shut down (going green & cost savings)… small, individual dry-erase boards & supporting supplies were provided for 4 classrooms; 3) TI calculators for 4 applied math classrooms.
Yes, there are formal school-wide & district-wide programs that handle donations, but those don’t always reach every teacher. I’d love to hear from local teachers or get feedback regarding programs that do help local needs.
