Ola Kala !!!

Just been to Ola Kala for the first time after walking past it for years.

My word, it's so good! I've been looking for a good Greek kebab for so long and Ola Kala definitely delivers. Seemed like nice folks serving too.

North bridge vandalism

I don't even know how long North Bridge has been open at this point and I see that it has already been vandalised with spray paint :(

Something NEW! Never realised why Victoria street is curved

I always assumed the bend in Victoria Street was just part of Edinburgh’s quirky old town design, but I just found out it was built that way deliberately.

The curve helped create a gentler route between the Grassmarket and the Royal Mile. There was me thinking it was just there to make it look pretty. A straight road would have been much steeper and less practical for 19th-century traffic too.

So there you go!

Edinburgh has so many little bits of clever engineering hiding in plain sight.

Lannan litter

Was out litter picking this evening, and I noticed a disproportionate amount of boxes with the Lannan branding on them.

I know there are limited bins near the bakery, but folks should be able to hold onto their stuff until they see a bin (and one that isn't overflowing)!
