Major Axis victory

The best game I've ever had playing the Axis in North Africa, Allied player made two huge late-game mistakes I can think of that ended with the Americans being thrown back into the sea, one early game mistake that resulted in the capture of Tobruk. The opponent is not a noob either, I would say we are fairly matched in North Africa, and typically have a minor or major Allied victory no matter who plays what side. But you can’t blunder that badly.

Biggest regret was being one British infantry away from a total victory. Otherwise, Rommel's last push was a success.

Axis strategy

Has anyone found a great way to win consistently with the Axis in North Africa? My play group using Rommel’s Last Push has found that the Allies will usually win. One time they took Tunis by turn 10, like these aren’t close defeats. The only reliable way I’ve found is to cut off Malta’s 15 RPs, else you don’t stand a chance. My G1 I buy 5 sea mines to take out the royal navy, and Italy makes 2 more behind them. This is the best way I’ve found to nerf Malta fast. But such a large investment sometimes doesn’t work, and I’m wondering if anyone else has other ways that usually work to beat the Allies in North Africa. Thanks!
