Aparently, Pulcinella's model is way more heavy than even playable characters. Does this means anything good playability wise or it has nothing to do with it?

Hello, I mainly post art here but there's something that has been running through my head for a while and I believe it makes sense. This theory will be focused on trying to tie all the loose ends and plots that remain unanswered even after "Truth amongst the pages of Purana" quest and analyse how he could come back.

Just a little warning, because this post will be discusing 6.6 quest events, if you haven't done that then be aware it will contain spoilers. Also, this doesn't have any leaks.

As the other theories, this one is divided in 4 parts to have a better reading experience.

1. What we know

Here's the info that we are sure about, if you're confident of your Dottore knowledge, you can skip this one, but if you're not that into his lore or got headcanons and oficial content mixed up, this will be helpfull.

Dottore aparent real name is Zandik and is from Sumeru, his parents were merchants, it's unknown if he were from the forest or the desert¹. It's stated that he got chased out of his village very violently, what he did afterwards it's never explained, he also lost his compasion at eight years old. Those events could or could not have correlation, it lacks evidence to sustain that fact, the only clear thing is that he was a normal child at born.

At some time of his life, he joined the akademiya, his darshan it's unknown², but it was neither biology or ilusionism and his rank was trainee dastur. The order of events are never truly explained, we just know that he started researching in the desert and then he got to the forest, wich was shown on a note³. The order⁴ wich makes the most sense might be this:

First, he and a research group got sent to the desert, and he investigated the ruin golems, wich were a prohibited topic at the time so these investigations were suposed to be secret. The team members we have info on are Zandik, Soreh, Sage Sharnama, and other unknown students. The first golem was the one found on Valley of Dahri, he talks about the weapon machinery and how he did some basic measurements, this might me the reason why the canon can be used today.

The second golem was the one from Hadramaveth desert, he called it "Gurabad Specimen" and it was in better conditions than the other. He was able to pilot it por 30 seconds but stopped due to motion sickness, he then hide it proposing a theory of how the pilots were suposed to drive it. He mentions a more important mission that is unknown. Around his time in the desert, he got to the temple of toth and found Layla's ancester. Here's where he refused Toth's gift and researched Deshret tecnology.

The last one is the one on the forest. In this one he got aparently close with one of his teamates, Dastur Soreh. She was from Amurta and saw Nahida as the archon, they had a picnic together. There it was revealed that Zandik also had an interest in evolution.

Soreh got injured by tigers and needed first air, there was an incident with a "killing machine" (probably a drake or a field tiller) arround this time that almost murders the entre group. Zandik deactivated it and suggested to gring it back and reverse engineer it, wich caused that the sage got his name out of the research, they buried Soreh and the investigation ended.⁵

He got expulsed due to his ideas⁶ and then he was recruited by Pierro as a Fatui Harbinger. He stablished on Dar al-Shifa, here his research focused on finding a cure for eleazar, wich resulted in using high doses of elemental energy to stop it from spreading further (forbiden knowledge it's Abyss related). His research took a new turn, fate and enhacement of the human.

He was sent to Inazuma to cause trouble in the nation, this is where Dottore, disguised as Escher the engineer, manipulated the people there to make the furnace malfunction and spread the tatarigami around the área, Kabukimono got manipulated and recomended him to Pierro. After Kabukimono joined, Dottore researched on his body and used the results into creating his segments. In this time he might have started to research on the elixir of inmortality, Pantalone was one of the test subjects.

One of the segments of Dottore got sent to Mondstadt to unseal Ursa and create a diplomatic debt with Sneznaya, a lab was created to research Ursa's blood and flesh, with Eroch as the leader. Eroch and the people that were involved kill eachother during a confrontation between the Knights. Mondstadt AQ happend because of this incident.

In Sumeru, Dottore and the Akademiya colaborated to create a new god of wisdom. Scaramouche was the vessel and he had to consume masive levels of knowledge and jñarna energy (colected on the colective dream). It fails but Dottore got the gnosis, one by killing his eternity (his segments) other exchanging knowledge hidden from irminsul.

In Nod Krai he creates a scheme to get the two moon marrows and Columbina to ascend to godhood, but this all was part of his plan to make a part of his soul enter Irminsul trought death, his goal was to be killed. In the meantime he digitalized his other half to be injected in irminsul and be able to take full control over the tree, the experiment in the name of blasphemy. It never got to complete because they burned the tree and created a new one on Aaru.

The world he wanted to create was one where the fates were swapped, as seen in Collei's dream, and has to do with "múltiple possibilities". (If something about this is wrong, pls tell me)

Notes:

¹. I believe he was from Rivat Caravasar, since one of the dishes he cooked in Dar al-Shifa was "potato boat" and it's obtainable in there. That place is full of merchants too wich coincides with his parents job.

². There's theories that suggests he was part of the order of skeptics when it was still part of the Akademiya or that he was changing between Darshans to form a richest knowledge base.

³. Zandik's legacy wiki page suggests that the ragged records are part of the series, but I don't think so, the writing is different, and it share more characteristics with the one's found on the hospital, wich are now known to be Dottore's notes.

⁴. I previously said that one of the records of Zandik suggested the remainings in Devantaka Mountain were the last one's they found, wich is true in most of the records, but there's a note that mentioned the Devantaka components and it was in the Gurabad notes. I don't know if it's a inconsistency or if he's talking about other components.

⁵. The redacted message in English it's very vague and I can't check the spanish version bc of the actualization, but it says that the akademiya investigated Zandik and he showed interest in the "legend of Varuna" (traveler's sibling) before disapearing.

⁶. Highlighted in múltiple ways, it was his ideas that got him expelled, not him being implicated on a murder.

2. What remains unanswered

There's plenty of things that never got explained in detail and it's... Suspicious. I might be forgetting some but here's some of these:

. His childhood¹

. His akademiya days

. Escher

. His goal with irminsul

Out of all of them, the last one can be explained by logic wich will be explained here, the others lack crucial information. Lets go with his goal with irminsul.

Pantalone stated that he wanted to "try all possibilities"... Or something like that. Teyvat Fate system, that Irminsul was described as being the one that act as a catalyst of the HP will, determines the fates that are going to happen, wich means only one possibility is allowed, and it contradicts with Dottore's ideal world. Nahida was saying that too much information was being processed, making the tree overwork, this made me think, is Dottore trying to modify irminsul to make all possibilities... Possible?² This is what no fate is about yk.

Notes:

¹. This one it's the most suspicious, since it's the start of this snowball efect that caused Dottore's current state. I believe this is the strongest clue that he might be the center of atention in another quest.

². His goal might also be, again, become the villain to force progression in order to create a new irminsul devoid of the HP grasp, it's suspicious to me that the one that knew the most about Deshret tecnology and knew where Nabu Malikata's resting place were didn't knew that Aaru could be a Irminsul replacement. Besides Nahida would never do that if it wasn't because the Irminsul were completely fucked up by Dottore.

3. The major theme on Dottore's character

He has a character with many characteristics, rejection, thirst for knowledge, madness, but there's one that I believe to be the most important, segmentation. When we talk about Dottore, we all remember his segments, no other character has that concept and it's crucial to understand him.

A Segment is a part of Dottore's life, frozen in time. The word frozen it's crucial, since it means it can't change, this is what makes Nahida so upset about segments, they can't grow or change perspectives, they can't learn and are forever stuck with that mindset. Omega, the most selfish segment made a selfish desicion that caused his own death. Segmentation is also a synonym of division but also, of segregation, there's no need to explain this one, it's very clear.

4. Destiny: Convergence

With all that covered, lets start theorizing! As the title indicates, his fate is convergence. Everything that splits will be reunited, more in Dottore's case since he got literally melted in fire. Here's the description of "crucible of causality" cutscene:

The heretic has always indulged the wildest reaches of delusion, until they twist and coil into an inescapable prison.

Where countless broken souls converge, he shall hear the verdict of his own soul.

This might indicate his revival will not be one when he rejects his past, but one of when he accepts it as a whole, he needs to in order to become truly human with the ability to change. This convergence requires to let go of his own self hatred.

That self hatred was the same one that caused all of his death's, indirectly or directly. Zandik dying because his segments didn't assisted him when he asked for it, Omega deleting all of his other selves, his plan to enter irminsul trought death and the revenge of his deleted segments. It fits that his revival would be due to his acceptance. This becomes a tool to show his past in a more natural way.

Guys i'm an insider, Pantalone is an electro stelar-conduct DPS and gets his first banner on 7.2, in the same version and with the traveler's help, Dottore revives but it's unconcious. In 7.6 he wakes up gets released as a dendro rimegrass on field DPS with off field mode for Pantalone.

Pantalone will be the most bricked unit untill Dottore bc half of his kit it's useless without rimegrass, with his release he becomes the second strongest team in Sneznaya. Dottore's best team at release it's also Pantalone's bc his dedicated support to be played as DPS it's not yet playable.

Dottore releases and BOOM, it's rimegrass shill time baby! He's the only unit that can complete bosses with rimegrass restrictions easily BUT also needs Pantalone bc without him the dmg of the team is ass. Also, 7.5 had banners with broken characters and in 7.6 there's 50 f2p pulls on the whole patch.

And guess what! Pantalone and Dottore are in 7.6 first half together so:

1. People that didn't pulled for Pantalone and want Dottore have to pay.

2. Meta slaves that skiped both have to also pay for getting them.

3. People that pulled for Pantalone and got any of the other 5* of 7.5 will also have to pay.

At the end of Sneznaya, Dottore and Pantalone dominates the meta. Theorycrafters believed they would fail but the thrones of the meta always belonged to old man Yaoi.

Btw, if this really happens i'm going to laugh so bad 😭

Idk if it's just me, but sandrone has the same gameplay (animation wise) i thought Dottore would have. RIP iPad kid Dottore gameplay, you'll be forever loved. 🥀
