MIPS - just embo - not feeling great

Hi all,

I have a 2.5 hour procedure around 7.20 ish. Went in via IVUS and MTS not found - was only at 40% compression but did find Nutcracker at 60%.

Went into deep pelvic floor varicose veins and embolized those and also “direct stick” to do visible vulvar Varicosities.

I’m going to be honest. I don’t feel great. It’s coming up on a month and I still have lots of heaviness, some period like cramping, back of the leg pain, and now lower back pain. Apparently I did have a lot of pelvic floor varicose veins.

Anyone else just have embolizations and care to share your recovery story? I have a follow up with MIPS in September and a new consult with UCSD in September too.

I’m sad and worried

Guest Here: Horrible Beds / Low Quality Bedding - Advice Needed

Hi. I spent a ton of money on a pretty house but all the beds are old, low quality, and have the most cheap and low quality bedding. I’m talking old firm mattresses, synthetic slippery sheets, matted down pillows. There are no throw blankets on any couches and no extra sheets or blankets anywhere in the house.

Friends stayed the night and they agreed it was low quality.

What would you prefer in this scenario in terms of guest communication? I value being able to travel and use AirBnbs but stuff like this makes me mad. I definitely feel ripped off and cheated.

Thanks in advance, a future AirBnb host myself

Interventional Radiologist in San Diego / Pelvic Venous Disorder aka Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

Does anyone have an astute, kind, competent interventional radiologist in their back pocket? I’ve been diagnosed with this disorder which is debilitating and I’m off work in extreme pain. I’ve had to look outside of San Diego to a sub specialist doctor in Colorado. I’ve had very low
quality care at Scripps and I’m just absolutely shocked that there seems to be almost nobody in San Diego dealing with this diagnosis.

Are there any amazing international radiologists in San Diego anywhere? Treating women’s pelvic floor issues? Doing minimally invasive procedures for May Thurner syndrome, nutcracker syndrome, varicose veins in your pelvic floor.

Thanks in advance, neighbors.

John Green - esque Needed for Difficult Times

I’m home off work for a medical issue that is proving to be an absolute beast to deal with. I suffer from anxiety and depression. I’m a high school English teacher who loves reading. My estranged mother just passed away.

I just read Everything is Tuberculosis and The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green. I’ve read everything else he’s ever written. Where else can I find books like his - I need honest, vulnerable, clear, intelligent, beautiful meditations that make me feel hopeful and less alone.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.
