my dad forgot my name today

Today my father looked at me for 10 seconds and asked "who are you beta?" I laughed in front of him but after going to bathroom I cried like a child. This man worked 35 years in factory, never missed my school fee even when we had no money. Now he cant even remember my name sometimes. Old age is so cruel man. People only talk about death but nobody talks about slowly losing yourself before dying.

I Thought My Product Had a Marketing Problem But It Was Actually Login Friction

I Thought My Product Had a marketing problem, but it was actually login friction

For almost 1 year, I kept thinking my ads were bad.

People were clicking. Landing on the website. Even exploring the product for few minutes. But then they just disappeared.

I changed pricing.
Changed landing pages.
Changed copy.
Spent more money on ads.
Nothing really fixed it.

Then one day I was watching session recordings and noticed something stupidly obvious.

People HATE creating accounts.

The moment they saw name, email, password, confirm password, verification mail etc... they left.

I honestly underestimated how lazy internet users are now. Attention span is dead.

So we implemented Google Login with automatic signup and now users literally click ONE button and boom they are inside.

No password.
No email verification drama.
No forms.

And the difference was actually insane.

Our signup conversion jumped almost instantly. I am not even joking when I say we probably lost thousands of customers earlier just because of that extra friction.

The crazy thing is users trust Google login way more too. Especially on new products nobody knows yet.

I used to think authentication is just a backend thing. Nah. Its literally part of marketing and conversion optimization.

Now whenever I see products forcing full signup forms in 2026 I already know they are leaking users badly.

If you are building anything online and still dont have one tap Google login, fix it this week seriously.
