TECHNIQUE TIPS

Grew up going bowling once or twice a year and always defaulted to throwing 2 handed just to see the hook. About 2 weeks ago, decided to get into the hobby but as a 1 hander. Spent the first week dialing in thumb fit and now can really work on things. I have watched YT tutorials so coming to Reddit for some tips on what to work on first.

Thumb skin ripped off. Fixes?

Got a new ball drilled today, oval thumb. I am able to hold the ball pretty relaxed but I guess this shows I’m still gripping it? Started with white tape in front and ended up putting thumb tape on after it started ripping into the first game - ended up looking like this. Thumb is beveled. Is this a fit thing? Technique? Combo of both?

Thumb feeling loose?

Hey Reddit, just got into bowling and got my first couple balls drilled yesterday. Do you have any tips for a thumb hole that is a tad too loose? Keep in mind I just got a standard thumb drill, no slug or interchangeable yet. Would insert tape be my best option? Seems like tape is widely used anyway. Thank you!
