Sorry I’m really new to this and the rules.
And I wanna be clear before I bust out the paint and find I’ve cocked up and wasted time and money and what I think is a cool idea.
My plan was to run 80% Raptors in the Green and 20% Raven Guard in the black but also as the command element with Shrike.
Is this allowed, surely it should be?
Well that wasn’t ridiculously painful on the eyeballs.
Needed coffee to get through it till I realized that was a poor life choice.
Who would have thought that shaking caffeine hands makes painting harder. 🤦♂️
Got given these helmets but can anyone tell me if these helmets are for RavenGuard and belong to a particular element of the chapter or are they just beaky helmets used by another chapter?
Also have some beaky helmets with the skull on the brow, are they fit to be used as SGT’s.
Sorry if this all sounds obvious I’m pretty new and still learning.

A big shout out to the lad at
Military Hobbies and The Toy Soldier Experience in Adelaide.
He gifted them to me as I asked about where to find MK6 and he was gracious enough to give me his spares.
Absolute bloody legend.
Yet to be weathered, which I’m scared and looking forward to in equal measures.
I’ve built two but I really wish I painted them at the same time.
Matching them up is going to suck.
Got a little carried away with the interior but was fun.
There’s as much green stuff used as there is glue, the model didn’t line up very well.
I did try magnetizing the Las turrets so I could change it out for the other weapon systems and have it swivel.
That did not go well.
Cool innovative idea I thought, in theory.
It turns out no, magnets hate me.
Keen to hear thoughts on the heraldry, not sure if I over did it.
In my infinite wisdom I’ve demoted not 1 but 3 classes to slowly, so slowly move back up the ranks.
Other than weapons earnt (cos I’m not into torturing myself), all gear worn will be rank appropriate.
As I mentioned in another post, for me it’s about not rushing it and keeping that RPG element alive.
1 - 4 - Scout
4 - 8 - Battle-Brother
8 - 12 - Veteran
12 - 16 - SGT
16 - 20 - Veteran SGT
20 - 25 - Lieutenant
So this is what we go to start with, also any heraldry mistakes I make or anything going against lore please don’t be afraid, point that shit out.
It’s the best way for me to learn.
Look forward to seeing what you think, first few will be a bit boring but see how we get on. 👍

Mud brown sprayed on the under side for shadows and drab olive green from above.
Then detail the hell out of it until I over do it.
Either that or the rattle can sealer turns it into a ghost.

Yeah, my second attempt and I got carried away. This model felt so much smaller and yellow paint and straight lines suck.
The straight lines I’ve now learnt, have you coffee after.
