A Raptors Predator absolutely inspired by Imperial Armour Volume Nine.
I enjoyed painting this one and especially the ‘mud’ effect. Also first time I’ve tried to add ‘anti-slip’ on a tank which for a space marine is pointless but it adds a nice bit of texture.
Is it just aesthetic or is there a lore reason behind it?
Still need to add his pack and possibly a cloak. He’s fully magnetized and I have the other arm options painted so I can swap them out. Head is a reaver head option that I added a green stuff hood to. Pretty pleased with it so far. Open to feedback, especially on the sword.
For some reason I’ve painted up a few chaplains in a row. I love them. Now to use them.
I decided Armageddon box was the best moment to start my first loyalist Space Marines army.
This is my 'test mini', and I like how it turned out, but have many ideas to make the next ones better, so wish me luck
Tonight’s kitbash, weapons still tacked till I’m happy with the pose.
Made using mostly MK4 kit, with a headswap from MK6 kit and combi plasma and accesories from new Combiweapons kit. Also a purity seal from tactical squad kit.
Been using Warhammer as a hobby/coping skill for the last year and some change, when I got the Armageddon box and saw the pose for the librarian included I instantly wanted to make this. Honestly impressed with the result.
First time posting any of my stuff though so im open to feedback or whatever.
Another raptor scout. Almost done with this box… 3 more left
Tacticooling up my Armeggedon Intercessors, to give them a bit more Raptors personality, is usually pretty simple.
Dry fitting the Auspex guy together, and his chest computer (from the Scouts KT) is giving me a bit of trouble. I love the idea but something doesn't look right to me. Is it just that the bolt rifle sling in the way, or the fact that it covers more space on the chest than the pouches. It's having an "uncanny valley" effect on me for some reason and I can't figure it out.
This project actually started as a little airbrush lesson for myself. I wanted to push my airbrush control and get better at placing volumetric highlights, so I decided to experiment with a Reptors Chapter power armor scheme.
What started as a simple exercise turned into a full painting project, and I ended up really pushing the contrast with brushwork, edge highlights, metallics, decals, scratches, and battle damage.
I’m honestly really thrilled with how the finished scheme turned out. It was a great learning process, and I’m especially happy with how much I improved my airbrush control along the way.
I also put together a full step-by-step guide covering the whole process, including all the paint mixes and both the airbrush and brush techniques.
Would love to hear what you guys think! 🎨
Idk if it’s lore accurate, but I just thought it looked cool, hence I posted it.
