Their Lindsay Clancy conversation is part of why women are failed in this country

Obligatory I love LPOTL, I’ve been listening to them for over a decade and have been to lie shows.

HOWEVER we can criticize things we like and care about. Their Lindsay Clancy conversation and take is part of the reason why PPD & PPP isn’t taken seriously and women are failed.

Ed said multiple times “well it’s common, a lot of women have PPD!” in the context of down poring the severity of her being failed by the system. We CANNOT and should not downplay PPD & PPP like this. If everyone thinks “oh well everyone has PPD” then no one is going to take it seriously. When I was pregnant, I was often told my symptoms were “just because I was pregnant” and almost died because that simply wasn’t true.

For me that claim to be educated and care about women, this was, in my opinion, their grossest take yet. Cue Ed saying “oh the baby just couldn’t latch” when Henry said Lindsay had PPD with her first baby.

This is extremely disappointing and proves how much as a society we fail women in crisis

4 weeks post op and physical therapy

Hi there!

I am 4 weeks post op from a bicep tenodesis + rotator cuff debridement + distal clavicle excision and my insurance has a “hard cap” for PT and won’t authorize more sessions. The PT place I have been going to is $150 a visit without insurance and it’s recommended I go 2x a week, which I cannot afford as a one income household.

Was anyone else in this boat? Any tips or tricks? What did you do for PT?

Bicep tenodesis & getting back to movement

Hi all!

I’m exactly 3 weeks post bicep tenodesis + rotator cuff tear debridement + distal clavicle excision and would like a gut-check from y’all.
My algorithms are swarmed with videos of people back in the gym within a week or two after surgery and while I can work out some, at the end of the day I’m so sore and in pain that I can’t function. Have I been a victim of the algorithm? 😬

For some context, I’ve been powerlifting/crossfit 4-5 days a week for years so taking time to heal is extremely hard for me. Seeing others doing what I thought I could is messing with me.

So what say you - have I fallen down an algorithm rabbit hole? 🙏

Need some suggestions to keep strength after surgery

Hi there girlies!

Unfortunately, I tore my labrum pretty bad and have to get surgery next month 😫 for 4-6 weeks I will be in a sling and won’t be able to use my arm at all. After that, it’s a long road to recovery in terms of weightlifting.

Has anyone else been through a setback like this and kept their strength? Right now I am as active as I can be with a full time job and a toddler - I am on the Stronger by the Day lifting program and love to lift heavy. Any exercises I can do with a bum arm to keep my deadlift gains?

Thank you!
