Cineplex sold the same seats twice at my showing of The End of Oak Street
I went to the 7:30 PM IMAX showing of The End of Oak Street at Yonge and Eglinton and had the weirdest encounter.
My partner and I were in our assigned seats when, right during the trailers, another couple came up and told us we were sitting in their spots. I opened the Cineplex app to show them my tickets, and it turned out we were booked for the exact same seats! Both of us were super confused.
Eventually, management came over to check our tickets. I showed them the app and my email receipt, which baffled the staff just as much as it did us. Fortunately, the Cineplex team was able to find another pair of available seats to relocate the other couple to.
I felt bad that the mix-up happened, but I’m really glad we all still got to watch the movie. Also, I really enjoyed the film!
TL;DR: Cineplex app glitched and sold the exact same IMAX seats to two different couples. Management was confused but managed to find open seats for the other couple so we could all enjoy the movie.The End of Oak Street is a fun movie.
