Barry Hertz: Despite conjecture floating around, Toronto’s Scotiabank Cineplex isn’t being demolished any time soon — redevelopment plans have been on and off for years. The Queensway and Vaughan locations are also safe. Direct your energy instead toward the Ontario Place Cinesphere
Not being able to use CineClub discounts for Dune 3 purchase. Solution?
Hey guys, like a lot of you i was also unable to use my CineClub discounts when buying Dune 3 tickets (even though the $1.50 was successfully removed).
I wanted to ask if anyone has reached out to Cineplex support about the issue and if so, what their response was?

$1k/seat is diabolical… I hope Cineplex can find his account and ban him from purchasing any future releases.
Best alternative for the Odyssey
Out of these options what’s the best alternative to watch the odyssey since it’s impossible to get the imax 70mm.
Did we fell in love with cinema or 70mm
How we became cinephiles in first place ?did we watch every movie and show in 70mm ? Obviously no right. From yesterday I’m having this thought after waiting in one hour queue for dune part three ticket. And it was exhausting. Then I thought why ? We used to watch movies in theatre to escape for 2-3 hours from world now I spent nearly two hours to get tickets. Then I realised it’s not how I felt in love with-movies in first place.
Main reason behind is too much hype for 70mm screen. Guys it doesn’t matter if you watch in 70mm or regular imax format just enjoy the movie. I didn’t watch first two part in imax and still i love dune franchise and appreciates Director denis.
Let me know your thoughts
Refunding these 4 tickets for Dune in IMAX 70mm in Montreal for 3:55 PM on December 20th in 5 minutes
Got some more central seats for the following week instead.
Enjoy!
Can cineplex get better ?
Saw this in the r/film subreddit, apparently amc also crashed during dune 3 and this is what their ceo had to say. Can we expect something like this from cineplex ?
Out of curiosity, do you guys prioritize seeing Dune: Part Three as early as possible, or getting good seats?
I noticed people are buying the very first row for the earliest showing (which probably sucks in Imax 70mm), even though there are much better seats available for a showing a day or two later. Personally, I’d rather wait a day or two for a good seat, but I’m curious what you guys prioritize.
Just assessing the risk here…
I got great IMAX 70MM seats for dune part 3, unfortunately I was not able to use my cineplex credits for them (the option wasn’t there for some reason I guess it had to do with the cineplex servers bugging out), is it even worth it to refund them and try and get them again immediately after to save money? Or would the places just get sniped before I can even re-buy them? I’m leaning more on just being grateful that I got good seats, I’m more asking out of curiosity lol
Cineplex Courtney Park. Good or Bad for Doomsday?
Managed to get good seats for Day 1 shows for Doomsday at Cineplex Courtney Park. Anyone been there recently?
How's the screen and sound? Worth it, or should I go somewhere else?
I obviously want to have a great experience watching the movie but also realize that there are not going to be good seats available at other venues.
Stars and strollers movies - always "kid" movies?
I have a 7 week old baby and my partner and I would love to go to movie again! But I'm confused because the only stars and strollers programming that seems to be available in my city (Winnipeg) is kids movies? I have no interest in seeing paw patrol and my 7 week old is too little to care either way 😅 Is this normal? Will it change at some point? I don't see the point of this service if it's always kids movies but maybe I'm misunderstanding the intended audience....
Should we be worried about duplicate tickets?
With all the server glitches today, do we think duplicate tickets are likely to happen? I know some people automatically had orders refunded.
Saw some recent posts over the last couple of months of people having double sold tickets
offer question
if i buy my fourth ticket in person at one of the machines with a scene card that i’ve linked to my cineplex account will it count? or does it have to be purchased online?
Is the poutine at Cineplex good?
I’m thinking about trying the poutine at the cinema today and I was wondering if it’s worth it!
It’s not a VIP cinema btw, just a regular one.
Why Do Parents Not Teach Theatre Etiquette Anymore
Just went to watch a movie where a parent and child talked through the whole thing loudly. It completely ruined the theater experience. It wasn’t even a kid’s movie.
I’m fine that the child was talking and obviously not mad at the child. But the mom was initiating conversation with the child and making no attempt to stop it.
Why are people like this? I have friends who don’t even go to the movies anymore because of this reason. I wish people would have more respect for a shared public space and teach their kids theatre etiquette.
Edit: I really tried to not comment on it because I don’t like telling kids off. But near the end, 85% of the movie in, I couldn’t hold it anymore and told/shouted to the mom “could you PLEASE stop talking throughout the ENTIRE movie.” It was honestly deeply upsetting for me to do this and it really makes me not want to go to the movies anymore despite loving going to the movies.
Don't book Row F/G IMAX Silvercity Riverport Richmond
The dividing barrier is a thick tall wooden block that will block the bottom of the screen.
I don't know how they can sell those tickets without indicating obstructed view.
I booked Row G (2 rows before division), on this advice but even there at least 10-20% of the bottom of the screen was fully obstructed on IMAX 70MM.
I could feel the disappointment and constant shifting from people in Row F in front of me. No idea how much was blocked for them.
Edit: I can confirm Langley is much better in this regard.
If you need to see in Richmond, my recommendation is far back.
