Why Do Parents Not Teach Theatre Etiquette Anymore

Just went to watch a movie where a parent and child talked through the whole thing loudly. It completely ruined the theater experience. It wasn’t even a kid’s movie.

I’m fine that the child was talking and obviously not mad at the child. But the mom was initiating conversation with the child and making no attempt to stop it.

Why are people like this? I have friends who don’t even go to the movies anymore because of this reason. I wish people would have more respect for a shared public space and teach their kids theatre etiquette.

Edit: I really tried to not comment on it because I don’t like telling kids off. But near the end, 85% of the movie in, I couldn’t hold it anymore and told/shouted to the mom “could you PLEASE stop talking throughout the ENTIRE movie.” It was honestly deeply upsetting for me to do this and it really makes me not want to go to the movies anymore despite loving going to the movies.

Can someone please tell Melanie…

That if she doesn’t want to look like the woman who always takes a cheating man back, then she can simply NOT take the cheating man back.

Stop telling her “he likes you the most” and he’s “trying to fix it.” Tell her NOT to take him back!

Her friends are not good friends to her.

Sincere’s problem…

Is that he just gets off on cheating.

He’s not going to be better. That’s just who he is. That’s how he will always be with his multiple families.

It’s frustrating to hear all these islanders say he’s a good person when he clearly isn’t. Being a good person means not treating people like shit and lying to them. Weird to just dismiss this and say “but otherwise he’s a great person.”

Sure, you could argue maybe he will get better when he’s older, but his current trajectory is not promising.

The reason why all the islanders were quiet when sincere’s clips went up

Been thinking about why everyone was quiet when sincere’s clips went up. Neither the girls nor the boys had anything to say. No anger. Nor comments.

I think it’s because they were ashamed. Ashamed they had been tricked by sincere and had blamed Melanie for being too sensitive or too much.

The men had no defense. And the women were just ashamed they had low-key thought Melanie was being too “crazy” and that sincere was the patient and kind one.

I’m happy Melanie got vindicated at the very least. But it was hard to watch.

Our Love Island gods have punished very fairly with movie night 🙏

Honestly. No notes. Thank you for providing everything we wanted and then some. So nice to see punishment given to all these awful islanders. Can’t wait for Thursday’s smiting.

So tired of the men acting like the women explore just like they do.

The men (Corbin, KC, Sincere, Zach) act like the women explore just like they do at casa and that it’s all hypocritical but it’s not true at all. The women barely kiss their casa guys (if at all) compared to the men. The men also acting like they’re entitled to make out with casa women is giving ick. Of course, what else is new.

The way Sincere “explored” with Amora with total unchecked entitlement is not the same as Melanie kissing Corey when she was at the picnic after spending lots of time just talking with each other.

The men also get all riled up that the women were “also kissing” but it’s VERY clear the way the women were moving was very different from the men and it’s infuriating to see the men equate the two as though it justifies their behaviors.

It’s like when Sincere totally undersold his kisses with Sol. And don’t even get me started on KC.

It’s exhausting. But it’s all part of love island I suppose!

Edit: just to be clear, both the men and women are entitled to explore outside of their couple. I just don’t agree with how the men would equate their “grinding and bumping” and making out all night every night with a peck or quick kiss that the women had with their casa men counterparts. Could the women have kissed more? Sure, if they wanted to. But they didn’t. So the OG men shouldn’t equate the OG women actions with their own actions. That’s all.

Casa outcomes are too predictable and I’m exhausted by it. We need change for next season.

When you’ve watched a couple seasons of Love Island, this casa format is just so predictable and dull. The OG women are cheated on, spoken down to, generally mistreated and unappreciated by the OG men. The women meet better casa guys. Unsurprisingly, 3 days is not enough to turn their heads. The OG women go back to their original crappy OG men.

Why can’t we adjust it so that:
- 2 weeks in we do casa
- casa lasts 1.5 weeks or a timeline more meaningful

Then there’s a real chance at seeing different outcomes. I understand filming casa is double the work but it’s become exhaustingly predictable and boring to watch.

For whom the bell tolls

What is the significance of the bell and why only tom, Patricia, and rosemary can hear it? Even the reverend couldn’t hear it.

What’s in the basement, Tom?

Why did tom panic ask Evan if he went through the basement. What’s in the basement?

Seems like a deliberate choice to ask this but before we get to find out, it’s derailed.
