Excellent video analyzing the seeming lack of launch attacks in Virtua Fighter Crossroads and what it means for various elements of the game. Go watch it!

I get it, we're all excited and having fun playing Plot Theory Fighter right now, but I swear everyone is just posting the same stuff over and over again and it's making the sub a complete slog to read through. I think it's time to step back, put our fan fantasies aside for a sec, and look at what we know objectively.

- A character isn't confirmed/unconfirmed until we see them onscreen (and, in the case of the Bakunawa Killer, see their face). All the old characters are getting touched-up designs. Sega is intentionally being cagey with reveals to build anticipation because the game's still a year+ out and they can drop a new trailer/reveal every so often to keep hype flowing. Character reveals in particular are a HUGE part of fighting game marketing. Yamada's been very careful with his language in interviews to not expressly confirm or deny anyone for that reason.

- We don't have a crystal ball to predict when the next infodrop will happen. I will wager that CEO will probably have something since it's the next big major and part of VFOC, but that's not guaranteed.

- Anime isn't canon. You might get a cute little nod every now and then (like how Sarah had the Alexander item in VF4EVO) but it's roughly as relevant to VF's plot as the USA Street Fighter cartoon.

- It's been stated in multiple interviews in multiple languages that Yamada and co are moving away from the whole J6 thing. Does that mean that there aren't ongoing, lasting effects from J6? No, and it very well could be another Umbrella Corp situation where you still have pockets of influence out there, but yeah, it's pretty clear at J6 as it previously existed is donezo.

- If there's franchise crossover it's more likely to involve RGG's other games than Shenmue, if only because Sega's actively supporting the former. (I do not, however, want to hear anything about the Daidouji in Virtua Fighter do you hear me Sega)

Also: If you have a wild fan theory, maybe consider posting it in an existing speculation thread rather than making a completely new one and clogging up the sub for people looking for other VF-related things. It'll make things nicer for everyone.
