Just picked up VF5 and I'm very excited to deep dive into it over the next few days. Are there any characters that you guys think are very likely to return to VF6 so I can focus down on one of those. Vanessa in particular caught my eye, not sure how central she is to the series.

(Would be cool to see the new X-Ray body damage mechanic replace traditional health bars)

I think the gameplay will be wayyy more interesting and it could actually be a brilliant and innovative decision. I'm getting tired of health bars in all games tbh lol. And with the new footage they've got an X-ray body damage mechanic where specific limbs or body parts will light up orange when they are in critical condition. One example was when Wolf specifically targets Cielo's legs. And there was another moment where a lethal blow to Cielo's head leads to the slow-mo shot into a KO.

EDIT: Just realized you can see there are health bars in the footage, so it would be nice if there was an option to disable the HUD and turn it off lmao...

I'm ngl, I think having no health bars would make fighting games 2x more interesting.

They better put her in the new game.

Yeah. So I’ve been in animation and media production for decades.

So that video the leaker recorded from is a prepared media piece, right? That is an edit with vocal overlay, explainer graphics, etc. It’s either done or being edited and somebody recorded the screen right?

(We should see the full edit and proper formatting and resolution soon as it being prepared for release somewhere obviously.)

But I bet they let this video out on purpose because of communities like this one who would grab it up and spread it. It’s kind of like the new viral marketing. Actually it’s not even new… This technique has been around a while.

But whatever. It doesn’t matter. Intentional or not?

Since there’s only been a few character reveals, we are probably all waiting with bated breath to see our mains or favorites appear. (My girl Aoi is gonna look so amazing in this rendering engine… They better bring her back!)

But, I will repeat what I have said in many threads where people were bemoaning the lack of media on the VFX development: Ya have to understand: preparing media for release takes an absolute ton of time, to say nothing of the fact that they probably release the videos earlier than they should to get important feedback from communities like this one.

In other words?

**Let them cook!**.

This looks awesome… I can’t wait to experience it firsthand in whatever form it takes.

I was under the impression that this game would have a universal parry system that allowed for martial arts movie type choreo back and forth where you could dynamically parry attacks. Previous clips and also the tech demo concept footage showcased glimpses of this, but it isn't very prevalent in the new leaked footage.

I'm hoping they have more footage to show at summer game fest 🙏

I'm really happy with literally everything else. Just add more parries and this would be the perfect game. Evasion looks nice, but even more evasion and defensive options in general would be epic.

The X-ray damage system is very exciting.

do you guys think the sumo wrestler will be in the new game coming out? never played virtua fighter but I always play a sumo wrestler if there is one in a fighter. I know there is one in this franchise but I dont know if he is popular enough to make the cut.

Also remember.. this game is Confirmed to be rated CERO-D/M for Mature 17+ A very risky first for the series
