I hope VF Crossroads doesn't do this, because it's one of the things I dislike most about the current Virtua Fighter.

I actually love that the game includes low-poly versions of the characters. They're a great tribute to the series' history. What I don't like is seeing those low-poly models mixed with realistic characters and stages. Whenever I run into someone online using one of those models, it completely breaks the immersion for me. I just think it looks ridiculous.

The ideal solution would be to keep those low-poly models separate from the competitive experience, or even better, add dedicated retro modes where everything matches. Imagine playing through the entire game with VF1 graphics, then replaying it with VF2 graphics, then VF3 graphics. That would be amazing.

What I don't want is to be playing with the game's normal visuals and suddenly have a low-poly character appear as if nothing is different. The clash between low-poly and high-poly visuals just doesn't work for me.

If VF Crossroads includes retro character models, I really hope they're presented in a way that keeps the visual style consistent instead of mixing them with modern graphics.

Explaining Why Virtua Fighter Is Considered Realistic

Many people don't understand why Virtua Fighter is considered realistic. The reason is that its realism is always compared to other fighting games such as Tekken, Dead or Alive, Soulcalibur, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and others.

In other words, when people say Virtua Fighter is realistic, they are not saying it's as realistic as a real-life fight or an MMA/UFC match. After all, if that were the case, Wolf or Jeffry's first throw would probably be instantly fatal.

So why is Virtua Fighter considered realistic?

It's because the fighters don't throw magical projectiles or supernatural attacks. Instead, they perform techniques based on their respective martial arts. The game also avoids bizarre elements such as dragons or bears fighting like humanoids, sword-wielding warriors, characters shooting laser beams from their eyes, gun users, teleportation, and other fantasy concepts.

At its core, Virtua Fighter is simply two martial artists exchanging techniques, much like in a classic kung fu movie.

That's why the community considers Virtua Fighter a realistic fighting game: it's the only major franchise that hasn't embraced anime-style absurdities, magic, melee weapons, dragons, animals, and other fantasy elements.

By that logic, if Virtua Fighter were as realistic as the UFC, many of Wolf's, Jeffry's, Vanessa's, Aoi's, and several other fighters' throws would result in instant death or leave their opponents permanently crippled. However, Virtua Fighter deliberately ignores that level of realism in favor of fun and game balance.

I hope this explanation helps people understand why Virtua Fighter is regarded as a realistic fighting game.

One Thing That Went Unnoticed at the End of the Bakunawa Killer Trailer

At the end of the Bakunawa Killer trailer, it says "JOIN THE DISCUSSION". In other words, SEGA wants fans and the community to come up with theories about who BK might be and discuss anything related to Virtua Fighter Crossroads.

So why do some people keep saying, "We don't know anything about VF Crossroads. It's better not to speculate and just wait"?

Come on, that's such a boring attitude.

Let people speculate about Virtua Fighter Crossroads as much as they want. Nobody is going to live or die because of it, and it's very likely that at least some people's theories will turn out to be correct.

Sure, some theories are completely absurd, but so what? There are also many well-reasoned theories, such as Stella being a clone, BK being a young Lau, or J6 having faked its destruction at the end of VF5.

So let people speculate freely! Stop being so dismissive, like some Tekken fans.

That's all I have to say.

JOIN THE DISCUSSION!!!!

Explaining One Possible Way Stella Discovers She's a Clone

Stella could go to a strip club as part of an investigation. Once there, she notices that one of the women performing on a pole is an exact copy of herself.

Seeing someone who looks identical to her would leave Stella deeply shaken. She would begin questioning her own identity, unaware that the entire encounter had been orchestrated by J6.

The truth would be that Stella was never an undercover government agent at all. Instead, she is a J6 "doll" created to be observed while collecting behavioral data, both from herself and from the people around her.

That could also explain why, in the leaked footage, Stella was shown on a pole dance stage, while in the official version of the same scene she appears in a park instead.

In other words, when a clone (who doesn't know they're a clone) suddenly encounters someone who is physically identical to them (another copy of themselves), it's only natural for that to trigger a powerful psychological shock. They would likely begin experiencing an identity crisis, questioning whether they really are the person they believe themselves to be or merely a copy of someone else. They might also start wondering whether their job, the people around them, their family, and even their memories are real or simply implanted.

As a result, Clone Stella would become emotionally unstable, leaving her far more vulnerable to J6. That instability would make it much easier for J6 to manipulate her, regain control over her, and use her for their own purposes.

Regarding the topic of Clones in VF Crossroads, some people are treating it as if it were something supernatural or outright impossible. However...

....However, successful animal cloning has existed since 1996. The reason there are no human clones is not because it's scientifically impossible, but because human cloning is considered unethical by most scientists, bioethicists, and governments due to the high risks of failures, birth defects, and other complications observed through animal cloning experiments.

Furthermore, humans are thinking, self-aware beings. A human clone would most likely struggle to accept the fact that they were created through cloning, potentially becoming resentful of humanity for "playing God," which could even lead to rebellion.

There are also serious concerns regarding exploitation, identity, human rights, and the many forms of abuse that human cloning could enable. For these reasons, reproductive human cloning is prohibited virtually worldwide.

Below is a list of some animals that have already been successfully cloned:

- Cats
- Sheep
- Dogs
- Cows
- Bulls
- Pigs
- Goats
- Rabbits
- Camels
- Rats
- Monkeys
- Deer
-Wolves
- Horses

Therefore, although human cloning is prohibited, an anonymous organization like J6, which has no ethics and follows no laws, could very well be conducting experiments involving these forbidden technologies.

So, what is the difference between humans and other animals? Humans are rational animals with advanced intelligence and self-awareness, but biologically speaking, they are still animals like any other. That is precisely why the idea of human cloning is not inherently supernatural within a science fiction setting like Virtua Fighter.

Therefore, dismissing the possibility of clones in Virtua Fighter simply because human cloning is illegal or currently prohibited in the real world doesn't make much sense. The J6 has never been bound by ethics or the law, and its technological capabilities have always gone far beyond those of the real world.

With Sony ending physical media production starting in January 2028, what are the chances of Virtua Fighter Crossroads being released on physical media?

As a Virtua Fighter fan, I'd love to own a physical copy of Virtua Fighter Crossroads, just like I do with several physical releases of RGG Studios games. Is there any chance SEGA could release the game on physical media?

I'm pretty sure GTA VI helped Sony make that decision. Many players canceled or avoided pre-ordering GTA VI after they found out it wouldn't come on a physical disc, but instead with a download code inside the game case. That caused GTA VI's sales to drop, especially because there was a rumor that Rockstar would release a true physical edition after launch, and that the download-code version was only being used to prevent leaks before release.

Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts. What do you think are the chances of Virtua Fighter Crossroads getting a proper physical release, just like the other RGG Studios games?

It's impossible for Stella to be a Clone or Dural 2.0 in VF Crossroads. The scene changes to an official Virtua Fighter manga from 1994 in Japan.

In the official 1994 Virtua Fighter manga, we can see Dural being exposed beneath Sarah's skin, revealing its true identity. Before that, everyone believed Sarah was really Sarah, but it was actually Dural pretending to be her...

So why is it so hard for some people to believe that Stella could turn out to be a Dural 2.0?

They're trying to turn Pai Chan into a killer + The worst Bakunawa Killer theory

To defend the idea that Bakunawa Killer is Lei-Fei, some people are claiming that the reason Pai was so shocked to see BK's identity is because she had supposedly killed Lei-Fei to save her father (Lau).

The problem is that Pai has never even killed a cockroach or an insect because of how kind and compassionate she is toward all living things.

A good example of this is when a thug was about to kill her employee (Divina's sister) at the restaurant. Pai defeated the criminal, but she still chose not to kill him.

Therefore, Bakunawa Killer isn't Lei-Fei, since Pai never killed Lei-Fei.

I just came across this image on X, and that's the same pose Lau does in the opening of VF5 REVO.

I'd like to hear the opinion of those who think Bakunawa Killer is Lei-Fei.

Notice Lau’s and Lei-Fei’s posture and compare it with Bakunawa Killer.

With this posture comparison, you’ll be able to tell who Bakunawa Killer really is.

u/VCDECIDE — 9 days ago

Explaining Pai’s reaction if Bakunawa Killer is Lei-Fei

When Pai sees Lei-Fei, she must have been surprised because Lei-Fei used to be bald, and now he has longer, fuller, and more beautiful hair than hers. That’s why Pai is surprised and probably gets angry afterward, because someone who used to be bald ended up with better hair than hers, and that is unforgivable for Pai.

The scene would be something like this below:

"You… Lei-Fei?!"

Pai is in shock.

"How… how did your hair grow so much?!"

"What shampoo do you use?!"

Or then:

"You became a killer?"

"That doesn’t matter! What matters is… HOW DO YOU HAVE MORE HAIR THAN ME?!"

J6's Areas of Expertise and Yet Another Crazy Theory

J6 has mastered robotics, genetics, artificial intelligence, cloning, and advanced technology...

What I'm trying to say is that, through the Dural Project, which resulted in Stella, J6 probably realized that cloning doesn't actually create the same person, but rather a different individual. In other words, no matter how similar a clone is to the original person, the clone will still not be that person. Instead, it will be a different individual with its own identity, despite sharing the same appearance and many similarities with the person it was based on.

Therefore, when J6 created Stella, they expected her to be Sarah with a new life. However, the experiment ultimately failed because Stella is still Stella, even though she is a clone of Sarah.

J6's objective was to clone people in a way that would give them a new life, allowing them to inherit all the knowledge, successes, and mistakes of their previous life. However, this proved to be impossible, and Stella was the proof of that.

So J6 may have chosen another path, which is rejuvenating people, because in that way they would remain themselves, although there would obviously be side effects.

This means that, for J6, preserving a person's consciousness, memories, and identity is fundamentally important to their project. That is why they may have shifted to another approach, rejuvenating people so they would remain the same individuals. At least, that seems to have been J6's original premise, although there are obviously side effects.

In short, J6's ultimate goal is probably to transfer the consciousness, memories, and identity of an important person into a perfect body, one that is durable, resilient, powerful, and virtually immortal.

Therefore, the reason J6 invests in robotics, artificial intelligence, genetics, and other fields is because these technologies are merely tools to achieve a much greater objective: creating a perfect, durable body capable of preserving a person's identity, memories, and consciousness.

In short:

Robotics wasn't enough.
Genetics wasn't enough.
Artificial intelligence wasn't enough.
DNA wasn't enough.
Cloning wasn't enough.

So, the only option left for J6 is to resurrect and rejuvenate those who have already died or are on the verge of death.

Looking back at Shenmue's opening moments (watch the video) to understand who Lan Di is and why some people think he could be Bakunawa Killer in VF Crossroads.

I know many people who are going to play VF Crossroads probably don't even know what Shenmue is, so they might not understand why some people are saying Bakunawa Killer is Lan Di.

Lan Di is the main villain of Shenmue. Originally, Shenmue was conceived as a Virtua Fighter RPG, where Lan Di was Lau Chan and Ryo (Shenmue's protagonist) was Akira.

If you watch the video I posted above, you'll see that Bakunawa Killer fights exactly like Lan Di. So yes, even though I personally believe Bakunawa Killer is Lau Chan rejuvenated by J6, it's also possible that Bakunawa Killer is actually Lan Di, as I pointed out in my thread from nearly two years ago below.

https://www.reddit.com/r/virtuafighter/comments/1mszkwz/solution_for_the_imminent_death_of_lau_and_shun/?tl=pt-br

So, although I believe Bakunawa Killer is Lau, he could also be Lan Di or Lei-Fei.

Those are the three possibilities: Lau rejuvenated and "cured" by J6, Lan Di somehow rejuvenated as well (or with Shenmue's timeline simply being ignored), or Lei-Fei after stealing Lau's techniques, although I personally don't think it's Lei-Fei.

Theory about Bokunawa Killer's identity! Here's my theory in this thread:

I'm convinced it's a younger Lau. Pai was shocked when she saw Bakunawa Killer's face... and only one organization could make something like that happen: J6.

Would Stella be Dural’s daughter? A hybrid being? ( VF Crossroads theory )

There is a reason why the Dural Project revolves around the image of the female figure, because they are the ones capable of carrying the development of a being within themselves, through eggs, etc.

So, based on that premise, what if Stella is the daughter of a Human male + Dural?

What advantage would Stella have in being a hybrid being? Look, humans when they are born usually carry genetic characteristics from their parents and ancestors, such as weaknesses and possible tendencies to develop diseases, etc. However, since one of Stella’s parents is Dural, a being developed by J6 laboratories, Stella would not inherit these negative genes and would also be immune to diseases, as well as have greater intelligence, strength, resistance, and longevity than humans.

Have you ever considered this possibility?

I’m not saying that Stella is a perfect being, because as a hybrid with above-average abilities, she could also present instabilities, be unpredictable, show flaws, biological conflicts, or limitations due to not being 100% human and not being 100% “Dural.”
