Career change
After a final straw ordeal, I'm thinking of quitting my job as an admin assistant and focusing on something more related to my major. I studied English but then got into admin (which I've been doing for years) and now I really want a change. I'm in my mid 40s so I don't know how far I'll go but does anyone have careers they want to share? What about starting fresh in your 40s?
[CAN-ON] I feel like I screwed up
I work as a casual employee through a school board. I was on a long term assignment where I was supposed to be trained on one thing but instead told to file. I also didn't get a proper ergo computer set up. I did strain my neck and shoulder pretty badly, so I reached out to HR about it who suggested I make a WSIB claim. I did so, hoping for coverage for any physio I needed. Yesterday, I got an email from HR saying I need to go to a meeting regarding my poor performance at the long term assignment (now ended) and I need to bring my CUPE rep. They don't seem happy at all. I feel like I made a huge mistake and shouldn't have filed this. Now I'm worried I'm going to find out at this meeting that I'm either getting fired or blacklisted. Is there anything I can do?
The kids down the street and nextdoor are mean to my kids
As the title says, and really not sure what to do. I've tried to tell them to leave my kids alone but they won't . They've started playing head games, pretending to be nice but making fun of them behind their backs and making up stories. I would speak to the parents but I'm nervous because they might just be mean back to me. Anyone deal with this? What made things better? Thank you.
