If it's trying to get you off site, it's a bot

"Wow, this comment was so nice, but I don't understand the weird bit at the end, what do—"

It's a bot.

"This comment is kinda weird, is it a—"

Yep, bot.

"This commenter is so nice and gave me their Discord username so they could draw me fan ar—"

Bot.

Seriously, the examples of bot comments are endless in this sub, is it karma farming or just refusal to even search the sub before posting? I feel like half the posts this sub shoves onto my feed is obvious bot comments. By the powers of transformative works, can we at least contain comment stuff to a megathread or something?

I'm tired of this, grandpa.

[CAN-QC] Perpetually sick coworker

Hi, I've been feeling increasingly frustrated with a coworker, and I need advice.

I work as a receptionnist in a health spa, and have been in this position for several years. I often work in close quarters with another woman, who's just about to celebrate her 1 year mark with us. She has been sick now for 3 straight months, and refuses to take any measures to get better. This means she's constantly droopy and tired, coughing all the time (uncovered, loudly), constantly sniffling, and blowing her nose loudly. She does it with clients nearby, and doesn't even wash her hands before serving them. She "can't be assed" to get an appointment with her family doctor, says allergy meds don't work, and continues to go out on the town until the early hours on the same days as her shifts, making her even more droopy. Not only is it disgusting, but it makes working with her for long hours very depressing. It also puts a bigger load on me, because I often have to answer clients in her place as she's busy blowing her nose and hacking. And she always begs off early because she "feels like shit", so I end up closing alone more often than not.

I've mentioned all of this to my manager, who seems only to laugh in the face of my misery like it's a huge joke. I've tried everything I could to get this girl to go get medical help, and every single time we're on shift together again it's "I didn't have the time" or "I forgot" or "I felt a bit better for a day so thought it'd be fine" even though she always seems worse to me. For a long time, I was just genuinely worried, but now I'm sooo fucking over it.

I'm wondering if there's anything to be done if I brought this to HR's attention? I always assumed no, because it's medical in nature, but I figure I'll ask professionals before brushing up my resume.

If you need help from a French Canadian

Hi y'all, I'm Québecoise, and I have a lot of time on my hands today! If you're writing a fic and are unsure of things pertaining to Canada, or even Québec itself (be it language use, certain processes, terminology, etc) I'd be happy to help! Drop your questions and I'll try my best to provide a proper answer :)

If you saw the "Shane breaks his phone" post...

I went ahead and wrote one 😅

Don't Forget You Want Me - scintaellating https://archiveofourown.org/works/89437446

Summary:

How one Ilya Rozanov goes from

> See you in two days. 😘

to

> Fuck you too, then.

It’s the 2014-2015 playoffs, and for the first time since they’ve met, Boston and Montreal will face each other for a chance at the Eastern Conference Finals. It’s exciting, it’s playoff hockey, it’s Ilya and Shane in a best of seven for a chance at Ilya’s second cup, or Shane’s first. Ilya is straight-up giddy with the thought of it.

So why the fuck isn’t Shane answering his fucking texts?

or

Shane stops answering Ilya's texts after the Voyageurs eliminate Buffalo, and Ilya doesn't quite know what to do with himself about it. Had he the wherewithal to watch Shane’s post-game interviews without missing him too much, he’d know that Shane wasn’t just ignoring him until he got the hint that it was over. But Ilya’s always been good at jumping to conclusions that are to his own detriment. You can’t be disappointed if you already expected the worst, or whatever.

Edit: I need opinions. Should I remove the part in the summary that says it's because Shane's phone is broken? If you hadn't seen this post and just happened to find the fic on your own, would you rather that be a surprise reveal? 🤔

Edit 2: Ended up changing the summary a little bit, thank you to u/Necessary-Flamingo31 for the advice! ❤️

Reset unworn 😔

The devs either need to abolish the unworn meter or give us a chance to edit a submission within the first minute of submitting so that we can reset unworn if we forgot, or give us a pop up that says "are you sure you want to submit without a full unworn bar?"... I'm begging, please, my entry is so good but it's going to flop because I forgot 😭
