This sat open as a tab for so long and last night I jumped in. I think the word count is a magical length in fandom for me as a reader. A fic can do so much in this amount of words and also be a joy to reread. (and this one is that!)

I just want to share bc it doesn’t have many hits and I am as befuddled about what makes me click a fic and read it as I am how it works for everyone else, but I know a good solid rec helps!

Hi! I’m looking to see if there are any fics with this premise. Shane has a crush on Ilya and that somehow gets out. Maybe instead of someone recording him and Rose talking abt just him being gay they are also talking about Ilya. It can be one where he and Ilya are not yet hooking up or together. And News gets out maybe via interview or something. Like a reporter is like “How do you feel knowing about Shane Hollander’s crush on you”. Bonus points if they haven’t hooked up before so the rivalry was real in that sense.

I know it’s really specific but if you know anything similar let me know please!

Ilya’s messages and/or photos are leaked, outing Shane & Ilya’s relationship despite having been broken up for the better part of a year. Ilya is playing for the Centaurs & Shane is still in Montreal when this happens.

Yuna rushes to Ilya’s side when the news breaks at Shane’s request. Ilya blames himself for the leak, because Shane had asked him to delete their all evidence of their relationship.

Ilya is now living in a barren apartment with Anya because he is haunted by his memories of Shane in his Ottawa house.

Yuna persuades Ilya to visit Shane in Montreal on the grounds that they need to figure out how to handle the leak. They have an emotional reunion & they of course get back together.

I have spent days trying to find this fic again with zero luck! I would appreciate any help or guidance!

Am I losing my mind? In the show they say “Ya tebya lyublyu” right? Thats what has been branded into my brain. I’m not Russian, and don’t speak Russian, so checking Google Translate and the show is best I got. And that confirms it’s ya tebya lyublyu.

So WHY do I see ya lyublyu tebya in SOOO many fics now?! Is it an AI thing? A human error thing? The Mandela effect?? I even just saw a viral meme using that too. Is it easily reversed like that in the Russian language??

I feel like I’m going crazy.

What are everyone's favorite AUs at the moment? I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love the exploration of the characters in different settings! 36,081K. Hollanov in space! I love space opera, so this is just a delight. Shane is again a super BAMF and hyper competent, my favorite! Much drama mucking about in space in the name of love, but not a big focus on spice.

The fic is called pick-up lessons by noraster, rated E. Shane wants advice on how to pick up men while famous. I like that Ilya gets jealous, as he would.

Im looking for a fic where Ilya is scared that Shane gets bored with him while at the cottage. So he only brings a few essentials with him, and has to do laundry in the middle of the night so he has clean clothes

I saw a recommendation for a fic where ilya doesn’t realise shane is in subdrop and it was a HEA but I can’t find the post anywhere! Idk if it was on here, threads or X but i’ve checked everywhere. Does anyone have any recommendations? It was like they were in public and shane was dropped and ilya didn’t know but then figured it out or something. Potential svetlana was involved i cant fully remember. But any rec of that nature would be nice, only happy endings tho pls but i don’t mind a bit of angst. Thanks!

Currently in the middle of reading "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" by apageinthisbook, and I need more of what would happen if there were actual fallout because Hayden believes he knows what is best for Shane instead of taking a moment to listen to his best friend and observe.

I read a fic on AO3 and forgot to save it. there were some chapters where Shane gave Ilya a forehead kiss and he got a hat trick(?) so the other centaurs insisted on forehead kisses. it got called the benediction and other teams started joking about using it. I think Harris had to post that they weren’t a cult?

Hi. Searching a fic where David notices that Ilya has stopped coming around. Apparently is because Shane said something to Ilya about Ilya getting to spend more time w his parents than him and Ilya interpreting it as Shane telling him not to spend time w his parents.

Boys be genuinely obsessed w each other and it's hurt/comfort, a lot on David pov.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
