Any one else had this issue

Was riding my 2024 KLR650 home from work and felt a weird hitting on the front end. Pulled off and found a brake rotor bolt had come loose and was causing damage to the front fork. Thankfully it didn't completely ruing the fork but had to replace the lower fork assembly.

Anyone else have this problem? Feels like a one off but a great reminder to check all bolts even on new bikes.

Looking for advice for next bike.

Currently I have a '24 KLR 650 and have loved the slow ish speeds and off road ability that I have been able to do. I am also using it for commuting to work and finding that at 65 - 70 mph going up a hill it struggles to hold that speed and I feel like I am pushing the limits of the bike. Looking at trading in for a V-strom 800 (RE or DE) or what other bike should I be looking for? If you have a similar bike what are your thoughts on the KLR 650 or V-strom 800 as commuter bikes.
