Would a physical device visualizing your screen time actually change your habits?
I’m designing a small wooden desktop object that shows your daily phone screen time visually (a dot grid filling up through the day) — ambient awareness instead of checking a stat in the app you’re trying to avoid.
It also has an optional deeper layer: showing how much of your statistical remaining lifetime that screen time represents — not a countdown, more a “is this really how I want to spend it” nudge.
Genuinely trying to figure out:
**1.** Would passive, ambient awareness like this actually reduce your screen time, or does that not really work?
**2.** Does the “lifetime” layer feel meaningful, or too heavy/morbid?
Not selling anything, just validating before building further. Honest criticism welcome.
