How do you position yourself as a premium freelancer without sounding too salesy?
I’m refining how I present myself as a technical freelancer, especially for blockchain, smart contracts, DeFi systems, and backend-heavy projects.
One thing I’ve noticed is that many clients don’t just need “a developer.” They need someone who can reduce risk around architecture, security, deployment, transaction flows, and long-term maintainability.
For people here who charge premium rates or work with serious clients:
How do you communicate value without making your profile/proposals sound like hype?
For example, do you focus more on:
- technical outcomes
- business risk reduction
- past project proof
- niche positioning
- process and communication
- security/testing/deployment confidence
I’m trying to avoid sounding generic like “experienced developer” and instead make the positioning clearer for founders or product teams.
Would appreciate thoughts from freelancers who have successfully moved from basic dev work to higher-value technical projects.
