I've been looking into getting a vacation loan online to cover a trip I've been putting off for a while now. I've never done this before and honestly I don't know where to start. I've seen a few lenders online but I'm not sure how to tell which ones are legit or what terms to actually look for before signing anything. My credit score is decent but not perfect, so I'm also wondering how much that affects approval and the rate I'd get.

Is there anything I should prepare ahead of time before submitting an application? And are there any common mistakes first timers make that I should avoid?
