Woke lib married to a conservative

It’s been an increasingly difficult 6+ years as a very liberal woman married to a “conservative” man. Last night I brought up the Cornell 7 to see if my teenage son has heard of it and to open up a discussion on consent, and he (husband) immediately said “99% of the time they are making it up”) supposedly referring to big cases not all rape cases, still not accurate) and today when i showed a -admittedly distasteful- anti charlie kirk meme he told me that “he was a good guy”. We discussed this for a bit and after telling me i only look at memes online i found all the shitty racist and sexist evidence of Kirk quotes and he said “they are taken out of context.” I try to avoid these discussions because they always end in fights and we have a pretty good thing going despite our differences…. but it’s increasingly hard to pretend everything is fine.

Last time this happened was Jan - Feb 2026 as i went to protest ICE after the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti miles from where we live. He was sad they died but never said anything bad about ICE or Noem or Trump to lay blame.

I found this sub today and searched marriage posts and the last one was 4 years ago. Has anyone else survived a marriage like this in today’s political landscape?

Music in aid of my deconstruction💀

As an evangelical teens in the early 90s (before the broad internet access!) music and books were my only source of critical thinking. One of my favorite bands didn’t really side with atheism but eluded to questioning - The Smashing Pumpkins, which happens to be my favorite band of all time. Other fave bands more overt anti-religion (Tool, NIN, etc). But recently Billy Corgan came out as a Christian and my heart hurts a little that he is siding with this bullshit. Anyone else?💀

What to add to make these better?

I don’t hate these because i like the shape and placement, the outline is fine, and i am just a person who chooses to like the tattoos they have. I had problems with my skin in my chest rejecting ink (partially why these are so solid i think) and i’ve had this on other sites as well.

But I am finally old/well off enough to be able to afford enhancing these to make them better and i like this sub and thought you might have some good ideas. I’m not against color, but all of my tattoos (15) to date are black only, and i like them to match in general.
