As you may know the TPMS is designed to notify the vehicle of low air when the tire pressure drops below ~25% of the PSI of the tire when the system was calibrated.

If the recommended PSI for your tire is 33, by the time the light comes on, you’re below 25PSI. This is dangerously low especially if the tire is punctured and leaking air.

Something I’ve been doing with my cars since 2008. If your tire PSI is going to be 33, increase the pressure on your tires to ~40. Reset the system and then lower your tire pressure back down to 33. This way the warning will come on when the tire is around 28psi.
