Making art helps
Growing up with undiagnosed ADHD was traumatic, lonely, and led to pretty extreme people pleasing tendencies and RSD that no amount of therapy or medication seemed to help much with. I started painting in 2020 and, more recently, began painting some of my mental health struggles and it’s been surprisingly healing. I used a pic of myself as a kid as a reference photo for this piece and having an external representation of the pain I experienced has made it much easier to empathize with, and be protective of, that younger version of myself. As an adult, I let so many people treat me like shit but kept them in my life because deep down I felt like I deserved it and was so desperate for connection that I would take whatever I could get. But in doing that, I was only further traumatizing the girl in this painting. She deserves love, support and kindness. I deserve love, support and kindness, and so does everyone else who can relate. Just wanted to share.

Pride of Woodstock is looking for volunteers

Woodstock Pride weekend is coming up in less than two weeks (which we are VERY excited about) but there's a lot to do and we could use a few extra hands on Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th.
