Just finished my sculpting bench

I intend to use it primarily for wood carving/sculpting and specifically for the roughing process. I have another bench for detail work in my shop.
The table top is hard maple and the legs are Doug fir. I was hasty with planing/jointing my boards but didn’t aim for perfection. The thing is solid and supports, at least me of 150 lbs, without racking. Which is good enough.

I used this site that provided plans on how to build it:

Betta fish carved from a slice of basswood

Quick project that still needs to be finished. May use a harder wood and thicker material next time for better layering

Suggestions for quality carving tools

Hey all, I’m a wood carver and typically use Pfeil, Addis, and two cherries gouges/chisels. I’m interested in Japanese carving tools but not sure where to look or start. It’s hard to know what brands/makers are decent quality but I’m seeking recommendations for tools of comparable quality to the ones I already have, or pointers on how I can identify them. Interested in full sized or smaller/detail chisels, gouges, and engravers. Thank you!
