Job advice

I’m currently an ELA teacher/department chair, Army National Guard NCO (E-5), and FedEx operations supervisor. I recently applied for an Amazon Operations Manager role and a recruiter redirected me toward an Area Manager II position instead.
She emailed me directly saying my background aligned more with AM II and later followed up saying she’d reach out once they have an interview date.
Background:
5+ years leadership experience

FedEx ops supervision

military leadership/team chief experience

coaching football

master’s degree

used to high stress environments and managing people

I interview pretty well overall, but I know Amazon interviews are different and heavy on leadership principles.
A few questions for current/former AMs:
Does recruiter outreach like this usually mean I’m a serious candidate or just standard process?

Realistically how competitive am I for AM II with this background?

How common are sign-on bonuses and RSUs for external AM II hires?

Long term, is Amazon ops leadership actually worth it career-wise or does burnout outweigh the benefits?

Any advice for preparing for the interview process?
