Approved now what. USAF

Just got my SB approved. My SB program is in the local area to my duty station as I plan to stay here after I get out. Sent my MoP to supervisor, flight chiefs, and CSS. My skillbridge is about 5 months out still. Terminal to follow immediately after. I’m guessing I can’t start terminal without orders. How soon can I start out processing? Is it 180d from final out which would be March, or is it 180d from DOS? Which would be in July. I jut want to make sure that I get my orders in time so I can go on terminal and not worry. Thanks in advance.

Cox connection gets massive latency spikes whenever another device starts downloading

I’m trying to figure out what’s causing some intermittent latency issues with my Cox internet connection.
My plan is advertised as “up to” 500 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload. However, my speed tests typically average around:
94.6 Mbps download
34.35 Mbps upload
The issue is most noticeable when gaming, since that’s when latency actually matters and is much more obvious. I’ll occasionally get significant latency spikes while gaming, seemingly at random.
However, I’ve noticed a more consistent pattern: when another device on the network starts doing a large download, my gaming latency can spike significantly.
For example, I’ve noticed it while:
Downloading a Linux ISO
Updating a Linux server
Other relatively large downloads
Once the download finishes/stops, the latency goes back to normal.
I have low, ping less than 2 seconds on local network, when the ping spikes happen but when pinging anything external it is very high and all over the place.
There are only 2 people total using the network, so there isn’t a large number of devices or people competing for bandwidth.
My router itself doesn’t appear to have high latency under normal conditions. The issue seems to become much more noticeable when the connection is actually being used heavily.
I’m wondering if this could be bufferbloat, an issue with the Cox connection/modem, or something else entirely.
What would be the best way to diagnose this? Are there specific ping tests, bufferbloat tests, or other tests I should run while a large download is occurring?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Local area skillbridge

I’m planning on doing a skillbridge in the local area to my duty station and then terminal immediately after. However, I have heard from multiple people that are doing the same SB as me, and have already gotten approved finally, that the commander declined their first application because he wanted them to come back to finish out processing before terminal leave. He wouldn’t let them do terminal immediately after SB. I asked the CSS lady about it and she said, “no they must’ve had something else going on because they should be able to go on terminal right after.” But I know 3 people who all said the same thing and one of them was getting medically discharged. I’m about to submit my application and put terminal immediately after skill bridge for dates. I’m about 8 months out from DOS and have already completed taps. My SB isn’t until 5 months out from DOS and is only 84 days long. I have enough terminal to fill in the rest of days until DOS following that.
Am I submitting my application too early? Do I need to wait for orders? I guess I’m just confused on the order of steps as well.
