Advice for doing a 2 month long water fasting cycle
I’m currently 200 lb at about 24% body fat, and my goal is to get down to around 15% body fat, which I estimate will put me somewhere around 175 lb. My plan is to do a 6-day water fast, followed by 1 day of refeeding, then repeat that cycle until I reach my target. I’ve successfully completed a week-long water fast before, so I’m familiar with what to expect.
My biggest concern is muscle atrophy. I know it’s impossible to prevent muscle loss completely during prolonged fast, but I’d like to minimize it as much as possible. What’s the best way to preserve muscle while following this type of fasting schedule?
