I spent the night with my girlfriend and her friends; one of her friends has been her best friend for several years already. I noticed that majority of the night, my girlfriend kept on complimenting her best friend and talked about her all the time with her other friends. There was also a time when she was about to put her arms around my shoulders but stopped when her best friend turned around to face us. I don't know if my jealousy is validated or if I'm just overthinking things. It's not the first time this has happened because she always brings her up in our conversations, and having this feeling frustrates me a hell of a ton. I don't really want to start a conversation about this with her because she has been venting and depressed about not having enough social life, and I don't want her to think I'm being controlling, but it's making me really insecure and resent her.
