Looking for Truly Non-Human MCs

Hey everyone. I've spent way too much time reading web novels, progression fantasy, and LitRPG, but I'm new to this subreddit.

I'm looking for recommendations where the MC is genuinely non-human and actually acts like their race instead of just being a human mentally trapped in another body.

For example, if the MC is a dwarf, I want them to think and behave like a dwarf, with dwarf values, culture, instincts, and worldview - not just a regular human with a beard. Same with elves, monsters, dragons, etc. If they're a wood elf, they should see the world like a wood elf would, not like a modern human wearing an elf skin.

A lot of novels I've tried feel like the race change is purely cosmetic. The MC still talks, thinks, and reacts exactly like a human, so the non-human aspect ends up meaningless.

Are there any novels where the MC truly embraces or naturally develops the mentality and behavior of their race/species?

Edit: Thanks for all the recommendations. I’m checking them out one by one and I’ll try to give feedback after reading some of them.
