Unpaid taxes submitted as "civil penalty" on IRS Direct Pay
I received a notice showing unpaid taxes for tax year 2024. This also included interest but no mention of civil penalty on the form. I submitted the payment using IRS Direct Pay and labelled the payment as "Civil Penalty". Should I have labelled it as "Form 1040 income tax" instead? If yes, how do I correct this?
